We recently connected with Krystle & Vanessa and have shared our conversation below.
Krystle & Vanessa, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I had been working for the same company for 12 years, while having many creative side hustles. One side gig was doing product and brand photography for other local business owners and creatives. I always knew I would tap into something I was really into once the timing was right. Once my family and I moved to a home with more space, I was really able to expand my creativity. I was a mom of two young children, exhausted and really needing to reconnect with my artistic side again. I’m also a think 10 steps a head kind of person, so I really wanted to come up with something my younger sister and I could do together. I knew if she decided to become a Mom, she would most likely go through the lost myself period, that often times moms do. I wanted to have it all figured out for myself and her.
I moved to my new home a couple months before the pandemic. I had beautiful natural lighting, more space and felt inspired. I started playing with all kinds of clays. I worked so hard handcrafting a bowl which broke after a few days. How I knew I was really interested is that I kept trying over and over again. I started making clay earrings and wearing them to work and getting compliments from my encouraging coworkers, then customers. I worked on the craft and then taught my sister and we offically started our business from there.
We first starting selling through Instagram stories, putting out small collections that would quickly sell out. We even had sales from California to New York. Our minds were blown that strangers would even want out offerings. From there we did our first local market and the rest was history!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
