We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Krystle Saulsberry a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Krystle, appreciate you joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Krystle Clear Assistance was established to address the administrative needs of business and nonprofit owners. These executives are busy growing their businesses and organizations so they need someone to help free up their time with regards to administrative tasks such as scheduling/calendar management, email management, social media management, etc.
These tasks are important to the operation of any business or organization, and they can easily be delegated to a virtual assistant.
This type of remote work is not a new concept, but the need continues to grow in this digital era.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
Krystle Clear Assistance is a virtual assistant business that helps busy entrepreneurs with their administrative tasks so they can have “Krystle Clear” focus to grow their business and make more money.
Krystle Clear Assistance specializes in scheduling/calendar management, email management, social media management, grant writing, research, data entry, and travel arrangements.
I have nearly 10 years of administrative and customer support experience, and I hold a Certificate in Grant Proposal Writing from Fort Hayes State University.
My current & past clients come from industries such as health/wellness, tech, hair care, music, and marketing.
I am most proud of securing a $20,000 grant for a current client, and I served as a virtual assistant for a Netflix Personality that appeared on Season 1 of Love is Blind.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I started my first entrepreneurial endeavor as a Professional Pageant Coach and Content Creator under my other brand, Krystle Clear Pageantry. I have 20 years of pageantry experience as a titleholder, coach, judge, emcee, and stage manager.
Even though I am still active in the pageantry industry, I had to pivot to a different sector that was more lucrative and where I could serve a broader audience with the administrative skills I obtained while working for an association from 2007-2017.
I also have previous experience as a virtual assistant when I served as a Community Contributor for Wedding.com in 2017. I knew remote work was becoming more prevalent so I decided to enter the industry in a more full-time capacity.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn that going to college and getting a good job was the only way to be successful. Growing up in a small town, I thought leaving home and going to college was my ticket to success. I learned as I got older and gained wisdom that success is not a linear experience.
Going to college was an amazing experience, and I am grateful for my degrees (shoutout to Jacksonville State University and Auburn University at Montgomery), but I had to learn that true success comes from my willingness to work in my God given purpose.
Purpose does not always involve obtaining a college degree or working in Corporate America. Purpose can be found in a variety of opportunities.
