We were lucky to catch up with Krystal Winslow recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Krystal thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your career and how did you resolve those issues?
Im originally from new York. I moved to Texas in hopes to being a nurse. COVID 19 hit which brought everything including my in-person classes to a hault which led to me flunking. I also was not able to return back to New York for some time which made me start my journey in real estate classes online. I then acquired my license and have been learning how to navigate the market in these tough times.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Being born and raised in New York I’ve always had a fast pace hustle mentality. You can call me a jack of all trades. I’ve always had an eye and talent to draw portraits since I was 8 so naturally I’ve always been attracted to creativity. Being a resident of Texas has shown me a more calmer way of life which has allowed me to tap back into my artistic side. As a real estate agent I would be able to create a schedule that would allow me to focus more on my art. I’m eager to get back on the saddle and perfect my god given gift.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Moving from Brooklyn, New York to Killeen, Texas proved to be one of my biggest obstacles. Not having any family or friends from Texas, i constantly dealt with culture shock and being misunderstood by local residents. I also had to start over from scratch since I left everything behind in New York to start new more laid back life Texas.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I saw I had to unlearn my overly aggressive mannerisms to better coexist with the community around me. I’ve learned to smile alot more and enjoy more of the simpler things In life like my art.
