We were lucky to catch up with Krystal Tabor recently and have shared our conversation below.
Krystal , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
I managed all my social media platforms. I take the photos, I do the edits. Instagram launched reels, and that’s a one man show as well!
Some times you have to be your own cheerleader to make things happen.

Krystal , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi! Names Krystal Tabor, I’m the owner of 480 The new Generation. My husband and I wanted to create a brand that was relevant to Arizona, and some how bring new generations involved. At first it was just a T shirt company. –
When COVID hit, the company took a down fall. We focused on our 9-5 jobs, and stayed grounded.
–
We regrouped, and came back stronger in 2021, we rebranded the company and made it into a western store, featuring jewelry, and clothing. It’s been extremely fun exploring all new options for this.
–
We wanted to make it Western with a twist. Everyone thinks being western means being a cowboy. Well, to some yes, to others it’s about loving the desert, turquoise jewelry, leather patch hats, and more!
–
For us, it’s being comfortable in what ever it is you want to be!
–
I’m very proud of the new transition, it’s something that comes natural, Tshirt company was just fading in our eyes. This way, we are more enthusiastic about the love for the desert.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
How do I find my business? Like every small business owner, we stay in our 9-5 to help fund our dreams. –
Until this company can survive off purchase, I’m going to continue to work my 9-5, and my side business from 5-12AM. It’s what we do as entrepreneurs, It’s what we love.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy? I would say, to never stop. Yes, Slow down to rebuild, or re group. However, never stop planning, or growing. I’ve learned to study, new trends, old trends, and try to put that into our brand. –
Look at your stats, who is always purchasing from you? Do you have more men interested? Or women? Look at those analytics and measure what needs to be done.
