We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Krystal Jutte. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Krystal below.
Krystal , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
As a new business, one thing I love is the ability to help a customer when they are in need. I like to keep myself available for customers that are like me, busy moms that forget to plan their own events and last minute, realize they need treats! I’m here! Nothing brings me more satisfaction than getting a message, “is there any way that you can do 3 dozen (themed) cookies for Friday?!?”, on a Monday night. That’s part of the reason we do things, to make others life easier, when it comes to sweet treats (cookies or candy, and sometimes with the greenhouse! The number of times people have contacted in hopes we had extra plants to help replace plants, mostly because of pests and garden thieves.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I specialize in Custom designed cookies and freeze dried candy but love to have my hand is a little bit of a few things. My husband and I have a real passion for gardening and for bees! I was first introduced to baking by my mother. She was a custom cake designer, tackling intricate wedding and birthday cakes, cookies and cupcakes for years. I never thought I would enjoy it, but then I did my first set of cookies and fell in love! It is relaxing, creative and rewarding!
I started my journey with cookies a little over 2 yrs ago from my home and just keep growing! In March, my company did a downsize that I was unfortunately caught up in and I made the decision then, with my family, to embark in this new adventure of cookies and candy! I love to be creative with the themes I am given by customers as well as delivering a sweet treat to those that are celebrating some of the best moments in life (baby showers, wedding showers, retirements and so much more). I think that is probably the most rewarding part, that all my hard work and time are appreciated by all, and it tastes good! As for the freeze dried candy, that was just a really cool add to my growing audience. It is so much fun watching people try these candies in a completely different form and texture!
In the Spring and summer, I love to help Lauralee with plants, they are definitely a passion of mine. from house plants to gardening, I love all things green! A lot like cookie decorating, the time I spend planting, caring and growing seedlings to watch myself and others benefit from is very humbling and empowering! Look what I GREW, then PICKED, then ATE! it’s amazing… the other wonderful part of gardening for me, is that my entire family gets involved. My husband, kids and I love nothing more than to step outside and see what we find today, growing in the garden or what is blooming in the bee garden, it’s a beautiful time together that I will never take for granted.
My husband has more recently gotten into bee keeping and needless to say, we are ALL bitten by the “bee bug”. Our daughter (only 7) has even gotten into the activity and enjoys learning with is about them and their care. We are about to split our first hive and will continue to grow that as well as hopefully supply honey and bee services to the community!
Our dream is to work for ourselves, loving every minute of what we do, spending time with our kids and creative lasting memories together as we help to create beautiful and tasty products for our customers.
The fact that my life has given me a plan that I wasn’t ready for has been the best thing that has happened. I have been able to focus on my passions, my family and mostly myself. Uncovering what I want out of my life as well as how I can spread my talents and knowledge to others. That is what life is all about!

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
In March of this year, my corporate role was eliminated, and my company downsized. At that moment, after almost 14years of being on the road, working from home and giving myself to this 40hr a week role that I did not feel complete in, I took the leap. There are no doubt struggles in these times, I just want to bring joy and happiness to others. I want to share my talents, my story and my joys with others. I am able to spend more time doing the things that make me happy, that bring my kids and I closer and focus my energy on the things that i love AND can provide for my family. It’s what dreams are made of!
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I have tried to reach out via social media in terms of growth, but the greatest thing I can do is share. I have made some treats for different organizations and events that are donations. Not only am I living the example by giving back to those organizations that I also support and love, I am gaining exposure to an audience that may not know i exist. I love hearing from clients that they got a sample cookie at a meeting, maybe they won them at a raffle but knowing that my efforts pay off, if not at the time, in the long run is wonderful.
