We recently connected with Krystal Cruz and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Krystal thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I hope my legacy will be to have multiple franchises of Face Wardrobe stufios that create generational wealth that can feed my kids and their kids and the generations to come.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Krystal Cruz I am a single mother of four beautiful children and I empower women by enhancing their beauty and teaching them how To properly apply make up so they can show up as their best self. I never aspired to be a make up artist. I’ve always been an artist however. It was my love of drawing and painting that ultimately led me to a six-figure career providing beauty services. I’ve been able to build a solid and consistent clientele in South Florida that has afforded me the freedom to work on my terms. I offer make up application eyelash extensions and Microblading services. I truly enjoy making women feel beautiful and I’m super proud of the empire that I have built from the ground up. Not only do I provide beauty services to women but I also have my own cosmetics line called Face Wardrobe Cosmetics. I think my work ethic and my love for my customer sets me apart as I aim to provide VIP treatment to each and every client that enters my studio.
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
I started doing my own make up in high school and it didn’t take long before people realized that I had a hidden talent. In the beginning I loved dramatic looks I dabbled in special effects but ultimately I transitioned into providing more of a natural glam that my clients have gravitated towards. I spent seven years working as a cocktail waitress and I would do make up for clients on the side until it eventually snowballed into a full-time career and I was able to walk away from the night life. Being able to open my own studio and never look back has been a major accomplishment for me. I think that it speaks to the type of artist I am and the trust that my clients have in the services that I provide.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think customer reviews have really helped build my business. Word-of-mouth is a big one and encouraging my customer to leave Google reviews has also really helped. One thing that my clients and customers tell me is I had really good reviews which is why they ultimately trusted coming to me.
