Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Krysta Jones. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Krysta, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. In our experience, overnight success is usually the result of years of hard work laying the foundation for success, but unfortunately, it’s exactly this part of the story that most of the media ignores. So, we’d appreciate if you could open up about your growth story and the nitty, gritty details that went into scaling up.
In 2020 when the pandemic hit I had recently relocated to Texas for a bit as I have been pivoting towards new markets to help navigate the Cannabis Indsutry. When the pandemic hit the Cannabis Space was deemed essential which was great however marketing and the clients I had just spent so much time working to build with had to put alot of the services I did on hold to be able to with stand the current situation at hand. With everyone loosing their jobs and having to be home. Marketing services were nessecities and to top it off now events and gatherings were off limits. During this time I went ALL in on studying my craft and figuring out how to not let this happen again. So I signed up for a sales coach. I have always been able to do great work but had a hard time selling my self. My work had always spoke for me. With out me being able to work I really had to learn this skill. The skill of sales means the skill of growth and I am thankful that I was in a way forced to slow down and take a step back to take MAJOR steps forward.
Krysta, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Right out of high-school Cannabis became legal in Colorado and I was blessed to be just grown enough to be getting out of my teens and becoming a real adult. From the begging of legalzation I have had a huge passion for business and innovation. Being in a new emerging Industry of Cannabis was right up my ally. At first everyone said it was taboo and looked at me crazy when I would show up places after work reeking like fresh product. Now a days investors ask me for advice and guidance on their next acquisition. At this point in my Cannabis Career it has been about 15 years. I’ve gone through the caregivership time of the indsutry and have manage and over seen many markets across the nation in both THC and CBD. In 2014 I had started a brand called the The High Country Girls aka The THC Girls. In the early stages of my career I authentically advocated for the space just by being me, consuming where I choose to and representing all the companies I grew and worked for at the time with their hats, shirts, lanyards, and all the cool things they use to give us. Today we call this a brand ambassadors and influencer. After noticing my talent to create thus value and seeing the downside of the market and how hard it is for the smaller guys to compete I created a way to monetize the services we provide which lead us to launching The Highly Connected App. A place where C level execs and the culture of the indsutry can connect. Along with providing coaching courses in group form to our network.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I am tested multiple times a day, if not a week and one thing that speaks volumes is how you act when you are not up. What composure you have when people put you down and test you. It has been a constant learning curve through growing my brand an business. It hasn’t always been easy to stay professional and as a leader you have to set the tone for who else is watching.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
My most effective strategy to grow my cliente has been transparency and consistency in delivery. When working with our THC Fam ( what we call our clients & network) we are in HIGH communication and work through any and every challenge diligently to understand and move forward. This helps eliminate ego and miss communication when executing on projects.
