We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Krysta Jones. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Krysta below.
Krysta, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Folks often look at a successful business and imagine it was an overnight success, but from what we’ve seen this is often far from the truth. We’d love to hear your scaling up story – walk us through how you grew over time – what were some of the big things you had to do to grow and what was that scaling up journey like?
When I first started the THC GIRLS I was really performing all the duties myself as any entrepreneur typically does when they first stat unless you have a huge budget for a team right out of the gate. I utilized my network of resources to connect people and basically took a percentage of the work I was doing. This worked very well when I was able to be present and manage the performance of those being booked. As I continued to expand this became hard to do. I was traveling a lot and building my career however my passion to help people and connect opportunities was still very important. Something I also noticed is what was valuable, my network. The fact that I could deliver great work and accountable relationships continued to grow as word of mouth spread. Meanwhile building my career at the same time I was in a pickle between my own duties and responsibilities so I knew I had to monetize what I was doing to enable everyone to still connect to be able to progress with or without me. So I created the THC GIRLS App. The app provides an atmosphere where you can find vetted referrals in and outside of the industry. We have such a diverse network of people that really what we all have in common is the same vibe, drive, and willingness to grind. Not everyone on the app is a Cannabis user however we know they support and want to see the growth of the industry regardless. Another reason I created the app is to enable smaller businesses to move and grove with the resources they need in order to build up bigger budgets to be more creative. The bigger companies can most definitely have their social media managers and hiring managers source anything off our app too, but the reason I styled the app the way I did was really to help the small guys compete and the go-getters connect!
Krysta, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

In the Cannabis space, nothing is certain and the people that understand what it means to pivot and figure the problems at hand out are who win in our space. Time and time again tons of promises and guarantees are made by employers and employees that you depend on and account for your own growth and sustainability that sometimes fall through or just aren’t carried out and being super nibble and super quick to be able to pivot and not let anything affect my mind in a way to think what i am doing isn’t good enough or wrong. I believe in what I do and work hard and know that the next opportunity is around the corner waiting. I take away the lessons i learned and grow as a person and implement myself in a better way for next time consistently leveling up and growing my career and as an individual.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
In 2015 I came across Sanja Ganja. We took notice to each other’s brands because of the consistent hustle we saw behind them. My company being the THC GIRLS focused on creative marketing and networking, and her show The Sanja Ganja Show focused on Cannabis Education and health along with her being involved with events, coordinating, MCing, and producing them.
We instantly vibed and were able to start collaborating on projects. Our first collaboration was The Green Room Social in Denver where there is now an established smoking lounge that many more Cannabis brands use today. Since then we have moved all over the United States together growing our own careers in the space alongside our brands to enable us to not only have a successful resume but a huge influence and reputation that we can represent through our brands.
We have partnered on projects from planning, staffing, and coordinating huge Expos and events to successfully building massive cultivations and companies in both THC and CBD in multiple markets.
