Krypto.Divine, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I wouldn’t say that there was a clear and precise moment when I knew to pursue this creative path professionally. What I can say is that gradually I began to notice the separation of talent level that existed between me and my peers locally. The passion was already there and once I began thinking of what I wanted to do for the remainder of my existence the no brainer choice was creating, loving, and living music.

Krypto.Divine, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Most of my musical talent most likely comes from my father who plays multiple instruments but both of my parents are great writers. Growing up in a Christian household I was quickly thrusted into performing musical selections. I sang my first solo in church at the age of 3 and took a liking to the drums from a very early age. I didn’t start rapping until after high school but was always good at writing so the ability definitely translated once I began writing rhymes. Eventually I taught myself how to produce beats, engineer songs, and shoot videos because it was hard to get the sound/visuals I was reaching for from outside ears/eyes. Also it was much more cost effective to learn myself. Ingenuity, authenticity, and versatility are the things I believe set me apart from others. I’ve never been an artist that portrays something I’m not or put a a facade just to get fans. My brand is B.Y.O.M an acronym for bring your own mind which is pretty self explanatory. My music promotes self awareness, vulnerability, and sincerity. Always be yourself regardless of the room you’re in.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect for me is being able to make another human feel something simply through hearing my music. If I can make a a person feel better, or inspired or even bring them into a reflective mental state then I in turn feel rewarded. I once had a person share with me that they were in the hospital unable to leave for multiple days and the only thing that got them through it was listening to my music. Stories like that make it all worth it and adds more meaning to my journey.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Society should acknowledge the value and importance of artists and their contributions. Encouraging people to appreciate and engage with art helps create a culture that values creativity. We also need more spaces dedicated to artists that celebrate being creative in multiple mediums. Lastly we should stop trying to put an age limit on artists. Saying “your too old” or “you should get a real job” should be outlawed lol.
