We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kryptic G a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Kryptic thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you tell us about a time that your work has been misunderstood? Why do you think it happened and did any interesting insights emerge from the experience?
For the majority of my life, I’ve always been misunderstood. I can list numerous situations where someone believed they’ve figured me out, but in reality, they don’t even have the slightest clue about who I am as an individual. I’ve unintentionally dived into spirituality (non-religious) and commenced my journey, at the beginning of 2022. Due to that, I’ve become more and more misunderstood by the human eye. I’ve learned that I am highly intuitive, raw, confident, and untouchable…and that others are simple-minded and predictable.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Kryptic G and I’m a Freelance Artist who runs a business revised to, “Enkrypred Art”. I mostly had no formal art training, so the majority of my artwork was self-taught, minus the 2 years of art school during my high school career. I mostly specialize in painting Acrylic on Canvas, thanks to my audience and I’m proud to say that this medium is the one that allows me to create art that inspires me the most. My bold, vibrant, manipulation of color and attention to detail is what my audience loves the most about my pieces. I’ve recently broadened my artistic horizons to other mediums, such as oil on canvas, digital art, printmaking, watercolor, and even traditional art. Although my paintings are pretty popular among my clients, my digital art has become an additional favorite. I do occasionally create my original artwork and I distribute them in prints, stickers, or even the original medium so that many people can acquire a physical piece of mine. As a freelance artist, I fulfill commissions the majority of the time. My audience treasures being able to have their piece customized the way they want, and have it done by myself nonetheless. I’m honored knowing that people consider and/or choose me to fulfill artwork for themselves and I want my audience to know that it’s not always about the money I make out of it that pushes me to do so. I don’t often come into conflict with my clients, but when I do it’s usually due to a lack of communication. Commissions also challenge me into doing things that I may not be comfortable doing, and doing so makes me better at my craft.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
You mean what can society do best to support creative artists? It’s simple, buy their art.
If you can’t buy their art, then share their work, interact and engage in the artist’s content, and attend their performance/exhibit. You can easily support artists without spending any money.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building an audience was both hard and easy. It was only easy due to the kind of environment I was in. There were a lot of mutuals around me so it was a small world. It became hard because although I had the following count, people weren’t necessarily drawn to my art. It was a bit of a struggle gaining the right audience, however, I knew that If I continue doing what I love, the right people would follow through.
