We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Krizia Arlette a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Krizia , appreciate you joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
I started content creating in 2014, I was just a young aspiring influencer who decided to start sharing my life in video and picture form. With no prior experience, I dove headfirst into the world of video production on instagram and began experimenting with different editing apps.
At first, it was a struggle. I spent hours upon hours tinkering with various settings and filters, trying to get his videos just right. But with each passing day, I grew more and more comfortable with the editing process and began to see real progress while keeping it on brand to what I wanted my page to look like.
It wasn’t until I looked back at some of my early videos that I realized just how far I had come. What had once been choppy and disjointed was now smooth and seamless, with clean transitions and perfectly timed cuts.
As the years went on, I continued to perfect my craft, experimenting with new apps and techniques to push the boundaries of what I could do and I got to work with some of my favorite brands. I drew inspiration from my father, who had taught me many of the basics of video editing when he was just a child.
And slowly but surely, my hard work paid off. All my videos began to gain traction online, and I started to build a loyal following of fans who appreciated my attention to detail and creative vision.
Looking back on my journey, I realized that it was his commitment to practice and my willingness to experiment that had allowed me to perfect my craft. And I knew that the journey was far from over – there would always be new apps to try, new techniques to master, and new creative challenges to tackle.
But with my dad’s lessons and my own dedication to the craft, I was ready to take on anything that came my way. And I knew that he would continue to grow and evolve as a content creator for many years to come.
Krizia , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I originally had started my blog in effort to share my healthy journey and lifestyle. For about two years, it worked just fine but I felt like the subject of my content was getting too narrow and specific and I couldn’t keep up with the extreme healthy lifestyle that I was living. As soon then changed my name from the healthy gal to my first and middle name krizia arlette. I started to share more of everything that went on in my life from cooking, make up skin care, and anything related to my own lifestyle that I thought might interest my followers. I did lose some audience because it went from a Health blog to a lifestyle blog, but I am very thankful for it because it only made my followers more interested in what I was actually posting. It’s been almost 10 years and I have evolved and my continent has changed so much especially now that I have a baby is more family oriented and kid friendly.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The way I have been building my audience and making a name for myself with the Browns that I love was basically just sharing and tagging all of the Browns that I had already used and loved. A lot of people who already knew we would follow me and then would recommend or repost all of my contacts and that really helped. Most of my content is and has been mainly product recommendations of things that I use myself without being sponsored and daily recipes of the food that I like to eat usually very simple. I also went to culinary school, I did not graduate, but my love for food and passion for video editing together made a great combo for content creating
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I think my consistency throughout the years regardless of my follower account is what keeps me apart from other people, I am not interested in growing millions of followers, as long as the people that follow me know that everything that I share is true, and only things that I recommend based on my own experiences. I don’t like to work with too many brands. Orby sponsor too much because it defeats the purpose of my page. I have the blessing and luck to not need to economically rely on my page so that everything that I share isn’t biased whatsoever.
