We recently connected with Kritika Katwal and have shared our conversation below.
Kritika, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear how you think where to draw the line in terms of asking friends and family to support your business – what’s okay and what’s over the line?
I would appreciate support from my friends and family in growing my business but they will always have the option to choose others over me. I would definitely try my best to help my friends and family. If their needs are beyond my scope I will refer them to the related service providers.
Depending upon a personal scenario, everyone has their own custom need. I would like to educate my clients on how owning a home can make a difference in their financial health. According to CNBC “The Survey of Consumer Finances, released in Sept. 2020 by the Federal Reserve, found the median U.S. household net worth is $121,700. However, the difference between the net worth of homeowners versus renters is staggering. In 2019, homeowners in the U.S. had a median net worth of $255,000, while renters had a net worth of just $6,300. That’s a 40x difference between the two groups.” I focus on the individual needs of my clients and customers and solve their problems. It always motivates me to wake up every morning and bring joy in their life.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is kritika katwal. I moved to Atlanta GA, from Melbourne, Australia at the end of 2020. I am originally from Nepal. Travelling has always been my hobby and passion. I have always been drawn and amazed by the beautiful and authentic architecture , houses and landscapes since my childhood. Although I have contributed my career as a health professional for nearly a decade, COMING to America has given me the courage to try new adventures in life. I am glad I chose to be a real estate agent as it has given me the power to help people explore their financial opportunities and options, find their dream home and one of the largest investments of their lives.
Owning a home has always been a dream. Being an emigrant and from the health sector, I had zero knowledge about the housing market. I always remember the book I read when I was in high school, “RICH DAD POOR DAD”. I always wanted to have as many homes as I could. But the trouble was I was lost and wandering around for a long time. But being in a new environment as I moved to the USA from Australia encouraged me to try my options. Why not be a realtor and explore the housing market? Yes, I said and dive into it. I want to be a trusted advisor and skilled facilitator for the people like me who want to explore the opportunities of owning real estate. Not only am I a skilled negotiator, I am readily available to listen to their problems and find the best solutions. I have partnered and networked with people in different sectors that can provide real estate services when my clients need any time even after our transaction is closed. I believe in building relationships and going far and beyond to help my clients.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I was always dependent on my parents and siblings on my major decisions in life. In fact it’s our culture to follow the footsteps of our elders. Going to Australia for my Masters degree is the best decision I ever took myself. I had to suffer and go through pain in the beginning because I was in a new place and had no support financially, physically and emotionally from my family. During this journey not only I discovered my strength and weakness, it helped me know and understand myself better. I am glad I made that decision.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I have worked as a Registered Nurse for nearly 7 years and also studied Master of Public health. I have been a health professional for a long time. It’s never too late to know what your heart wants and follow your passion. I am letting go all my investment in my health profession and starting fresh to be one of the best real estate agent. I am passionate about learning the ins and outs of real estate and have been into seminars and training before I decided to start my career in Real Estate. I am looking forward to helping and providing my best service to my clients.
