We were lucky to catch up with Krisztian Pivarnyik recently and have shared our conversation below.
Krisztian, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about a time you helped a customer really get an amazing result through their work with you.
My law firm has helped close to 80 families already, achieving their dream of legally immigrating to the United States. We represent clients of a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds and nationalities, therefore, we familiarize ourselves with a wide array of personal stories. Two of our great success stories I would like to highlight are the successful immigration of an Olympic medalist waterpolo player and an immigration court victory for a removal proceedings client.
This year we successfully petitioned for a green card for the Olympic Bronze Medalist goalkeeper of the Hungarian national waterpolo team. Within 8 days of submitting his petition, USCIS favorably adjudicated it and he was able to relocate to the United States with his family. Thereby, we not only achieved a dream of the family, but we also helped the United States in attracting one of the greatest waterpolo talents of our generation to continue his lucrative career in America thereby benefiting the American sports industry.
The other success story is about a young illegal Hungarian immigrant in Texas who ended up in removal proceedings. He reached out to a number of lawyers who all rejected his case before he found our law firm. We took on his case and throughout a year-long representation at the Texas immigration court we were able to convince DHS to dismiss his case thereby guaranteeing his legal chance to remain in the United States and pursue permanent residency. This person has been escaping persecution and had horrific atrocities happening to him therefore his ability to safely remain in America is not only a legal victory but also a human one.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m an immigrant from Hungary who obtained his law degree in the United States. I opened my own law firm straight out of law school. After going through the complicated avenues of American immigration, I knew that my calling is helping fellow immigrants in America, therefore my firm’s primary focus is immigration law. Within 1.5 year of operation my law firm expanded so fast that I brought in a new partner , Mr. Miskolczi (a first generation American born to Hungarian immigrant parents) and we also brought 2 full time paralegals on board. We take on each client’s immigration case with a special dedication and awareness, understanding how much is at stake for every person on his or her journey of becoming a naturalized American citizen.
We never had a case rejection and whatever immigration case we took on with USCIS and the Immigration Court we always emerged victorious. We assist clients in Hungarian, English, German and Spanish and each submitted case is personally reviewed by both partners without an exception.
As an immigrant myself, I am proud of having established my own lucrative business in America , and within a short timespan , reached the level where I was able to provide employment to three American citizens. That is, at the end of the day, the core of the American dream, seizing the opportunity and benefiting your community and yearning for improvement and development.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Definitely honesty. Unfortunately a lot of immigration attorneys America make false promises to immigrants and convince them to file petitions that have no realistic chances of approval. In these cases, people lose thousands of dollars and have their chances of coming to America shattered or even worse , end up in removal proceedings. We don’t work that way at Pivarnyik & Miskolczi Law Firm. We carefully evaluate each client’s background and try to look for the best possible green card alternative. If we don’t see a realistic chance of approval, we remain honest with the clients, and inform them what needs to be changed or improved so they can qualify for a green card. We don’t prioritize revenue over efficiency. We started on the path of immigration law with the goal in mind that we want to be set apart from our competition through a customer-first mentality. Furthermore, I am an immigrant myself and my partner at the firm is a first generation American therefore our dedication to each client’s own personal immigration journey is vastly distinguished from the approaches of American attorneys who are not familiar with the backstory of an immigrant and the sacrifices they need to make to live their own American dream.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Social media and word-of-mouth. With respect to advertising , we absolutely ignore Google and radio ads. We only publish on social media such as Facebook and Instagram. Instead of aggressive advertising, we try to help immigrants make informed decisions by publishing informative content about different types of green card options and share industry news with our readers. Thereby, whoever finds our law firm online, can essentially learn a wide array of useful information about American immigration trends and regulations without paying anything. This strategy is not only more elegant than aggressive advertising, but we also heard feedback from clients that they found it immensely useful to have the ability to familiarize themselves about immigration alternatives before reaching out to our firm.
Word-of-mouth has been the primary driver of clientele building in the initial months of operating my firm, but it still is equally important today. Satisfied clients with approved petitions talk about our firm to their friends and new clients therefore mostly have a peace of mind reaching out to us because they know that if we take their cases, then we see a realistic chance of approval. Certainly we can’t and we don’t make any guarantees, but we outright reject any case where we feel that the client’s money and efforts would be wasted on it without a realistic chance of approval. Unfortunately, most immigration lawyers don’t work this way.
