We were lucky to catch up with Kristol Yeager recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kristol, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
While I have worked in real estate for decades, in February 2024, I decided to expand my career path in my business Get Ready to include working with Seniors. While that time frame seems quite short, my new focus has been very fulfilling. I started with the premise that most Seniors aren’t ready to leave their homes and/or don’t know how or where to start that process. Over this last year, Cindy Bush (owner of Simply Shift) and I have been able to collaborate and relocate several Seniors into new residencies making both the Seniors and their families’ lives easier. We handle the entire moving process from downsizing, decluttering, packing, unpacking and completing the set up of their new residences so that all the Seniors and their families have to do is enjoy the end result. Often we walk into homes that Seniors have lived in 30 plus years and quickly realize that they are overwhelmed. It is important to help our clients figure out what items really mean the most to them and make the selection on what to take with them to their new residences. We help them decide on what they want to donate and share information on the different charities we support. If the Senior already has in mind a charity of choice then we are happy to coordinate with that organization on the Senior’s behalf. Get Ready aims to give Seniors and their families comfort in knowing there are companies to help them with this major life move. One of the most rewarding comments we hear is “We couldn’t have done this without you”. We certainly love what we do!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I moved to Louisville in August 2023, all the way from Lexington. While I have had my real estate license for 20 years working in the Lexington area. When I moved to Louisville, I was ready to expand my career path, taking it in a new direction. My company Get Ready was created in February 2022. Get Ready offers home organizing, staging and styling to ready homeowners who want to sell their residencies. I also offer room refresh opportunities. I was fortunate to have Model 55, a company in Boston, MA, contact me on Instagram to discuss staging opportunities in my area. After my interview, Model 55 contracts me to stage senior living and apartment complex models. I was thrilled to have this opportunity. Once I started staging the senior living models and talking to the senior living facility employees, I was asked if I could provide my services to provide set up and organizational services for their residents. That is when the light bulb went off and I knew this process was what I wanted to add to my services. One morning I woke up and, on a whim, decided to visit five senior living facilities to simply introduce myself. This move was not like me, but to my amazement, two out of the five facilities ended up being very receptive and even helpful in my new journey. Since then, I have made so many wonderful friends and colleagues in that demographic. After joining HSPN (Senior Life Choices), the opportunities have grown due to networking and meeting new people. Helping seniors has become a great addition to my business along with continued services of organizing and staging for clients of all ages. I am passionate about what I do and I continually strive to make my clients happy! I want to thank everyone who has helped me grow my business. My goal is to continue to meet new people in Louisville with a goal toward making Get Ready a household name!

How’d you meet your business partner?
I love collaborating with Cindy Bush, the owner of Simply Shift. We met at a Senior Living networking event. I introduced myself and said we should have coffee. I think it was 2 days later, we went to coffee and Cindy said I have a Senior packing job this Saturday would you like to help? I said “Sure”. That is when we realized how well we work together. Since then, we continue collaborating and making clients happy! We are both passionate about what we do. We look forward to growing our businesses and everyone knowing Get Ready to Simply Shift! .

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I have found that the best strategy for growing my clientele is simply putting myself out there, networking with purpose and just meeting new people. While I have never been a person to stand up in front of a room and just talk about myself, I hope to continue to communicate the services available from Get Ready with a sense of passion and purpose.
