Kristion , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

To me the most meaningful project I’ve ever worked on is a cumulation of everything I’m passionate about. From my music, to my art and most importantly my business . I’m blessed to be able to lead a life with my heart and creative work. The background or experience this comes from is my upbringing. Growing up with the narrative of tradition and being taught the notion that your greatest resource in life is the income given to you. Not the time spent, the family tree, or even self love, but the finances given to you by others. As I began to grow through life I grew as a person and as a artist I began to recognize what nonsense has been preached and accepted. This eventually led me to becoming the multidimensional artist I am today. A woman of great spiritual and creative conviction, everytime I put my heart into a project and release it into the world I prove to myself that the most important things you can do in life is not redive, but to give.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

First off, Hello my name is Kristion Jewell, an artist in every category of the word. From music, to art, and fashion. I’ve been in the creative industry for almost four years now. Getting my start in videography and photography for creatives in the underground music scene. The start of my career came from making a lot of connections around the city of Atlanta while studying at Georgia State University. Through this part of my journey it became abundantly clear to me that my path was more mulifacted than what I gave myself the benefit of exploring. Eventually returning to my first loves of music, and painting in 2020 during the pandemic. I had a lot of time to recenter myself into my most authentic being. An artist, a wounded healer of the century, through misguidance of love, and trauma I’ve learned to transmute pain and misfortune into art and music. Since then I have been able to release two EPs called “19” and most recently ” Know 2 Much” both self produced and self written . And as a painter I’ve gone from painting in my backyard to having my artwork being shown in galleries across Atlanta and operating my clothing brand/ print company named “RARE JEWELL” . What I desire to leave people with is the knowing and living proof that you can create anything out of passion.

: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

The overall goal is to prove the doubters wrong by faith and belief in my journey. That goes for myself, my inner critic and fear based patterns and others who have criticized or doubted my ability and strength to move forward in my career as a creative. In life we get a hundred different choices everyday and the joy in life is making decisions that align to your overall vision for yourself. My mission driving to success is to show my younger self how deserving she truly is in fulfilling her destiny and moving steadfast in her path.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The most rewarding part of being a creative comes from the joy of creation and being capable of gifting the world parts of myself. Also the process of nurturing art from conception till finished. No matter what the art form is everything has to start from nothing. A good song is just a idea, til you add the instruments and vocals. A good meal is just ingredients on a counter til you put them together and a beautiful piece of art is just a blank canvas. My favorite part of creating is the process it takes. As an audience we only see the finished work but to recognize the true quality you’re able to appreciate the process.
