We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kristine Frazier a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kristine , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I have always been a creative. I’ve tried my hand at many different crafts and forms of art. At the beginning of Covid I came across a video of someone pouring resin. I immediately tried my hand at earrings and keychains and fell in love. I started posting on social media and requests started streaming in. I sold a few items, however, my work at that point was barely worth posting (in my opinion). By the summer of 2020 I was invited to do a vendor event and I was terrified, I went back and forth with the organizer before I finally accepted. I ran to Home Depot, bought a cardboard and some hooks and made a makeshift sign. This event sparked a fire that would ignite my drive and give me a sense of purpose. Each event after that, I spoke with my customers, documented my top sales and request to make sure that each event there after I would have something new to sell. Eventually, jewelry and keychains grew to coasters, trays and wall décor. For the first time I actually consider myself an artist and I am beyond humbled by this experience and how God is using me. I never would have imagined my business would grow to be what it is today, and I am ecstatic to see where I go from here.

Kristine , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Kristine Frazier, I am born and raised in Boston. I have always loved creative arts, from singing to poetry, dance to drawing, I have co-written and produced plays, been in choirs my whole life and performed poetry across the country. I love creating in general. No matter the job I had, I always knew my passion was in art of some form. I feel as though I have been on a long search for my niche. Despite the terrifying pandemic around me, I am grateful I had the chance to find, try and perfect my craft amidst it.
For so long I struggled with actually considering myself an artist. Even after starting my business, I never really considered it until my customers started encouraging me too. Although my goal is to encourage others, I am beyond humbled by how many people have encouraged and elevated me on this journey.
I started creating resin art as a hobby at the beginning of covid and it continues to grow beyond my wildest dreams. My business name is Elevated Queen Essentials for many reasons. I create/elevate a plethora of decor such as coaster, clocks, charcuterie boards, mirrors, jewelry boxes, wall art and more. It’s about encouraging people that life is all about elevating. No matter what life throws at us, no matter what your walk of life is, we are all Queen’s and King’s on a journey. I sell affordable home decor with a goal of empowering other to grow, learn, elevate and always dust off and adjusted your crown.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is seeing my customers face light up and their initial reaction to seeing my work. To know that something I imagined and created can be loved, appreciated and valued by someone is beyond me. Also, to share and inspire others to pursue their passions is so fulfilling.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Honestly, the greatest resource I had were fellow entrepreneurs and customers. I went to events, I asked questions. I put myself in the company of people who inspired me. Not just in life but through social media as well. I follow artist that inspire me. I filtered my newsfeeds to what encourages me. Although there were other resources, this was most impactful for me personally.
