We were lucky to catch up with Kristina Trim recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kristina, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
This was the biggest and hardest decision in opening, and i went back and forth but i knew I wanted to include Spa in the name and thought it would be a cute idea to include the suite number as well and Spa 43 was created.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Growing up in Montana I always knew I wanted to open a beautiful day spa, but I knew it wasn’t where I ultimately wanted to live and moved to Minnesota in 2013. I have a love for cooking and went into the restaurant industry where I was the general manager for many years. Once I turned 30 I decided I really wanted to pursue my dream in life and decided to go back to school and get my Esthectic’s License in 2020. I knew I wanted to be a little bit different and mainly focus on relaxation while using products where you can see immediate results. My main services include facials, chemical peels, dermaplaning, microneedling, and body wraps. I love each and every service i have on my menu but i think one of my favorites would be my pregnancy facials. I have a Facial that is specific for my pregnant mama’s that includes the face and the belly. Belly facials are fun and unique and I have many guests that come in right before maternity shoots so their belly is nice and glowing. I think what sets me apart from others is I truly want every single person to walk through my doors and feel like the experience is all about them. I tailor everything to fit what someone needs and I treat each person and each treatment how I would want to be treated in a service. I think the beauty industry can be a very pushy in retail and I just don’t feel that is necessary and i have always found it off putting. I believe in education and will absolutely explain why this product will great for the skin but education is extremely important to me.
I knew the product lines I wanted to use needed to be beautiful and luxurious but also needed to be effective and results driven. I did a lot of research and trail and error before choosing Circadia and Epicuren Discovery.
What I am most proud of is opening my doors almost right out of school. I have such a passion for this industry and I can’t see myself doing anything else. I have changed so many guest’s opinion on how they have previous experience vs what they receive at Spa 43. I truly believe when you have the passion for what you do you your guest’s feel that and it makes a world of difference.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I think the best thing for growing your clientele is absolutely talking about your business. If you don’t talk about your business and get your name out there who is going to know about it. I have a referral program which save’s you and the person you refer some money. Having a great website I believe is also important something that is easy to use and scroll through. Reviews are a wonderful thing as well I love getting to see what guest’s have to say and reading about their experience and always makes me smile. Word of mouth is hands down my favorite way for building clients and i am so grateful for each and every guest i have.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
At age 16 I decided I wanted to be home schooled and work full time instead of attending high school. I never completed the program, which left me unable to enroll in beauty school. So once I turned 30 i decided it was finally my time to pursue my dream and enrolled in another High School Home School program and completed my two years in two months while working a full time and part time job. I didn’t tell a soul i had enrolled back in school to get my high school diploma but i remember being out to dinner and getting an email from the school with my last paper and grade. That was it i was 100% done and had completed my High School Diploma I was so excited. As soon as that came in the mail I went to the local beauty school and enrolled and was in class 2 months later.
