We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kristina Kovalevich. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kristina below.
Kristina, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
Thank you for having me. I have been on social platforms for years but have become intentional with my approach in the last 3 years. I managed my own Instagram account for some time but have not been as active lately as I used to be. I brought a branding and social media expert, Brittany Torres, on board in 2019 to help me elevate my social game and grow a greater presence online. Here is what I learned. You need to have a social media game plan as it is a marketing tool. When social page is like an electronic business card. People see who you are, what you represent and what your product/services are. If used correctly, social media of any form, YouTube channel, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, are a gateway into your brand and company. Recently, I have worked tremendously on a client’s Instagram account, creating trending reels using various audios and templates, writing thoughtful captions, tripling their following in less than 2 weeks. Being strategic is key and asking for help and direction is not a weakness. As public figures and company owners, we must elevate from a personal to purposeful approach online. When you see value in your online social presence, you see the worth of investment. Your long-term goal is to maneuver your audience from a fan to a follower to a client. What has been key for me is focusing on consistently posting on one platform, then branching out onto other social platforms.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Absolutely. There are many. I will highlight a couple which are staples for myself as a creative and content creator. CapCut is my go-to for video editing. ChatGPT is my newest addition. As much as I am a writer at heart, I do like to run some captions, writings, and thoughts through ChatGPT as it saves time and may give me insight on a certain topic. It has been a life saver in moments when I was short on time. Lightroom is a great tool for photo editing. I edit the colors, tones and bring life to photos. Sometimes I fine tune details in the FaceTune app. As I develop and produce more work, I am excited to try new tools to elevate the game. There are many content creators in this world, but what sets one creative apart from another, is the way they see the outcome through the lens. If you can see the end from the beginning, you can plan and produce quality within a time frame.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe in solid, excellent character. I never saw myself as the smartest and most creative person in the room, but I did recognize the talent and gift hidden within, which takes time to develop and release for the world to see. What has set me apart from most is my ability to execute in a timely manner, be on time, keep my word, and give it my all. I love producing any type of work at a level of excellence. When your client sees your heart and how you go all out to give them the best, they not only appreciate you, but they also come back for more. Returning clients is the best compliment. Good reputation is the weight behind your name. If people speak highly of you and your work behind closed doors, rest assured, you will go places. It is simply a matter of time.
