We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kristina Garcia. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kristina below.
Kristina, appreciate you joining us today. Who is your hero and why? What lessons have you learned from them and how have they influenced your journey?
I am super lucky because I have two heroes. My husband who is my main support system and my number one fan. My other hero is my son, my why, my reason for starting my business and starting me on the journey of motherhood.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am the owner, soap maker, bomb maker, content creator, etc. of Little Fish Soaps. We make small batch artisan soaps, and bath bombs with creative designs and quality ingredients that are fun and safe for the whole family. We make custom blends of soaps and bombs to accommodate all skin types and sensitivities. We have had so many families come to us asking for soap that helps with skin irritations and sensitivities with fantastic results. Our main request from clients is asking us to create custom bath bombs for their kiddos. Bathbombs that either have no scent, or are scented in essential oils, bombs with no colors and colorful sprinkles added instead. We have heard and done it all, we love creating these custom products because everyone deserves to have fun in the bath! We love creating for families because family is so important to us, it’s the main reason our business started. We started Little Fish Soaps because I started making soap for my son who had really sensitive skin. Little Fish Soaps just grew from there. We are growing slowly, but happily I am a mama and wife first, and a business owner second. We do markets when we can and have a online presence, but right now we are just having fun creating and growing at a pace that works and feels right for our family.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I have learned many lessons running a business on my own fortunately I do have my intern (husband) who helps on occasion. The main lesson I had to unlearn was that you have to fill every order on a super short timeline even if it compromises other orders and family time. I had to start setting realistic timelines for myself and customers so that my family and other orders still got the attention they needed and deserved. Sometimes that means we are unable to create for that customer and while I hope to always help everyone we can, I have learned to be okay with the fact that sometimes that’s not possible.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I have a love hate relationship with social media. On one hand it’s extremely time consuming and it feels like to stay relevant you basically have to live online. On the other hand it gets your brand, products and name out there to your audience and friends. I admittedly am not as present as I should be on our socials. I am a toddler mom so most of my days are busy, and if I have a free moment I take that time to unwind, do stuff around the house or work on business stuff. So when I am on social media I make the most of my time I try to follow all business that follow us. I try to remember all the businesses that interact with us and try to do the same, I am a strong believer in following and supporting other small businesses.
