We were lucky to catch up with Kristin Tenney recently and have shared our conversation below.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Mike and I serve as board members for the Ahmad Butler Foundation. We joined in November 2022.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Mike Tenney hosted an event for ABF and as soon as I heard about Ahmad and the cause, I wanted to do my part. After the event, Latanya Morrison asked us to join as a Board of Director for the Ahmad Butler Foundation. We didn’t hesitate to join and we believe in this mission with all our heart. The Ahmad Butler Foundation supports children with childhood cancer in many ways including Captain Poodaman Care Packages, Superhero Overnight Bags, Support Groups, Counseling Services, Outings, and computer carts for digital learning. This is the “WHY” we joined ABF. As a public school teacher, absenteeism is a huge problem. ABF has computer carts and internet services to support digital learning so kids that are able to do classwork, can, right from their hospital room. Mike and I both see this as a way for students to continue their learning without any barriers. We graciously need funding to help continue supporting childhood cancer patients.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
Please refer to our first response. Our goal is to spread the word about ABF far and wide.
