Kristin, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Learning the craft is vintage takes dedication and a ton of research. I always tell my clients that you have to just start. When you begin to create a habit and start to explore the world of sustainability the thrifts can feel overwhelming. Initially you don’t need to spend hours. I like to start with quick trips to the thrift that will help create the familiarity with how thrifts work. Getting comfortable with the layout and flow of the store

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I love style and design! I have been thrifting for years and have an insane vintage collection of antiques and clothing. My goal is to inspire others to find their own creative and individual style. I’m proud of the fact that I’m able to influence others to shop more sustainable. Within 5 minutes of being on social media, you’re immediately inundated with fast fashion companies telling you what you need to wear, what is “trendy” and pressuring you to click on links to buy, buy, buy. My business strategy is the opposite. I want to inspire you to wear what brings your joy. Maybe it means secondhand or maybe it means shopping your own closet. Romanticizing secondhand and vintage clothing that will become staples in your wardrobe is what I hope we can all learn to achieve. Clothing made with materials that will allow you to pass these pieces down to your children.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I love this question because the answer is very simple. Authenticity. Being who you are and being unafraid of that will help build those trusting relationships with your following. I began committing to content March of 2024 and had 300 followers on Instagram. It’s now December 2034 and I have over 30k followers. I have just been me, sharing what I love and inspiring others to seek a sustainable perspective into the fashion industry. Now this doesn’t just happen overnight. Consistency is so importable. Creativity, and data will help you achieve your goals. Creating consistent content that aligns with your craft will build trust with your followers. View your business page as a business portfolio. What do you want your viewers to take away after visiting your space?

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
