Kristin, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

Each creative project I’ve embraced, whether musical or literary, carries deep meaning to me. Over the past twenty years, my music collections have been intentionally, theme-driven. For example, “Free” explores the idea of personal freedom, “The Dreamer” encourages the pursuit of dreams, and “March On” is about the power of perseverance. These projects are born from personal experience, with the goal of encouraging and inspiring others. The lyrics always point toward hope, which is central to my message.

Today, if I had to choose my most meaningful project, it would be my recent work, “365 Daily Inspirations ~ Ideas For Higher Living.” This inspirational book was a bit of a surprise and evolved over the course of three years. Each day offers a thoughtful insight and uplifting article, designed to provoke reflection and inspire the reader to reach higher in their daily lives. It feels particularly special to me because it’s not just a snapshot of a single moment or theme, but a collection that transpired over time, offering encouragement, while inviting readers to engage in meaningful growth, over the course of a year.

The content for “365 Daily Inspirations ~ Ideas For Higher Living”, came during a series of road trips across the country. With the open road stretching before me, I had plenty of time to think, reflect, meditate, and consider ideas, while letting subjects flow naturally. As thoughts came to me, I would record them into a voice recorder on my phone, capturing the essence of each idea and the moment. This process allowed me to gather insights along my journey—both literally and spiritually—which eventually evolved into the daily articles now featured in the book. It was a unique and organic way for the messages to come to life.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My career is a testament to the power of passion, creativity, and spiritual inspiration. As the founder of Big Fuss Records, I’ve carved out a unique space, producing innovative and soulful music that resonates with audiences worldwide. Most of my compositions arrived through my own need for healing. I would focus on the writing and enter the dark places to find the light in my personal story. As I poured my heart onto the pages, I realized that I had too much material to reasonalby afford major studios for the recording process. For this reason, I taught myself to produce the music as well as play multiple instruments. My journey as a music producer and label owner has always been driven by a commitment to bring out the best in myself, as well as others.

Transitioning from music to literature, I embraced my natural gift for writing and inspiring others in a new way. “365 Daily Inspirations ~ Ideas For Higher Living,” offers readers a daily dose of motivation, wisdom, and positivity. With an article every day, each page is infused with the same passion and creativity that guided me in my musical career over time. The words are a source of encouragement and spiritual hope, designed to help readers to keep moving forward in the face of challenges. This evolution from music producer to inspirational author, highlights my dedication to uplifting others, whether through music or words.

I continue to pour my heart into everything I create, with the intention of leaving a lasting impact. Presently, I am completing, another book idea, “The Adventures Of Fin Man”. This fictional story, is an inspiring tale of courage, transformation, and environmental heroism. Fin Man, is a unique hero born of the sea. He is half-man, half-dolphin and dedicated to a powerful mission: to save the oceans and restore balance to the world’s waters. As Fin Man teams up with the mystical Guardians from diverse marine realms, he embarks on thrilling adventures to reverse pollution, protect coral reefs, and confront threats to marine life. The story is set against vibrant underwater landscapes and infused with a message of restoration, hope and resilience. “The Adventures Of Fin Man” is a call to action, inviting readers of all ages to become stewards of our planet.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

With a deep love for God and a desire to inspire others, I write with the intention of helping people find purpose, joy, and faith in their everyday lives. Another goal in writing, is to inspire others not to give up, but instead to persevere through difficulty. I enourage readers to value incremental progress.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

For many years, I have offered as a free gift of song, to send to friends and followers on their birthday. This giving has brought me pleasure in sharing. It has also helped me to build deeper connections. It’s a way of “checking in” with people who I do not regularly see. Those who I may miss in my feed.

Also, when I began writing “365 Daily Inspirations ~ Ideas For Higher Living,” I knew that sharing my journey was going to be key in building a meaningful connection with readers. For this reason, over the course of three years, I consistently used social media as a platform to share not just the progress of the book but also pieces of my heart, the process of creativity, and personal experiences.

I began to offer excerpts from the book—small snippets that gave my audience a glimpse into the daily inspirations that would eventually fill the pages. The posts often sparked conversations, where others would reflect on their own lives, sharing their stories, and engaging with the themes of hope, perseverance, and growth.
In addition to sharing articles and quotes from the book, I incorporated my music into my content strategy. Music has always been a central part of my creative expression, so it felt natural to integrate it with my literary work. I posted songs and lyrics that aligned with the book’s themes, using music to enhance the emotional connection with my audience. By blending these two art forms, I could reach a broader spectrum of people, inviting both readers and listeners into a shared space of positive encouragement and inspiration.

I’ve always used visual content which has played a significant role in building my audience. Especially sharing DIY YouTube videos for songs, (youtube.com/misskristin) and photos from my travels, personal moments, live music performance clips and snapshots of my creative process. These images help to tell the story behind my music and books, offering an authentic and transparent look into the journey. Whether a photo of a peaceful ocean view that inspired a chapter or a behind-the-scenes look at recording my thoughts, each post has added depth to my relationship with friends, fans and followers.

My social media presence has a natural feel. What started as small, personal shares, blossomed into a meaningful following, with people connecting deeply to the messages of hope and inspiration. Through music and writing, I have purposefully created content to touch hearts and make a positive impact along the way.
