We recently connected with Kristin Myren and have shared our conversation below.
Kristin, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Coaching has personally changed my life, personally and professionally, which drew me to the mission and profession of helping others find their calling and live it authentically and successfully. It helped me see how my mindset, emotions, and physical well-being were shaping my decisions—personally and professionally. Once I understood that connection, everything shifted.
I started in health coaching, then moved into executive leadership. In both spaces, I saw the same struggle: people stuck in careers or leadership styles that didn’t align with who they really were. Too many of us operate from a place of stress, fear, or habit instead of intention. We separate “work” from “life” when, in reality, the way we think and feel affects everything—our confidence, our decisions, our performance.
I built Copilot because I believe career success isn’t just about strategy—it’s about self-awareness. When we understand our own patterns, we stop operating on autopilot. We lead better, work better, and live better. My mission is to help people bridge that gap, so they can build careers and lives that actually fit who they are.
Kristin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Kristin Myren is the Founder and Head Coach at Copilot, a coaching practice dedicated to helping individuals and leaders break through limiting beliefs and lead with authenticity. With a unique background spanning health coaching, corporate leadership, and executive coaching, Kristin recognized a critical gap in the industry: traditional executive coaching often lacked mindfulness and self-awareness, while individual coaching frequently overlooked career challenges. She created Copilot to bridge that divide, integrating self-discovery with behavior change science to help clients unlock their full potential.
At the heart of her work is the ERA™ Model, a framework she developed to help individuals and leaders shift from reactive, fear-based responses to creative, empowered decision-making. Kristin specializes in both personal and executive coaching, drawing from over a decade of experience working with high-achieving professionals navigating career transitions, leadership growth, and personal development. With advanced training in motivational interviewing, behavior change methodologies, and social psychology, she offers a holistic approach that goes beyond strategy—helping clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves and how they interact with the world around them. Her own journey, from corporate executive to entrepreneur and adventurer, is a testament to the transformative power of coaching. Whether guiding clients toward career breakthroughs or personal milestones, Kristin’s goal is simple: to help individuals honor their authentic selves and create a life that aligns with their deepest values.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the belief that experienced leaders are naturally self-aware—and that once you achieve a certain level of self-awareness, it’s permanent. Early in my career, I assumed that as I gained experience and advanced into leadership roles, I would simply become more attuned to myself and my impact. I also believed that once I reached a certain level of success, I wouldn’t need coaching anymore. The reality was quite the opposite.
Self-awareness, personal growth, and leadership aren’t destinations—they’re ongoing processes that require continuous effort. Without intentional reflection and external guidance, it’s easy to slip into autopilot, lose perspective, and start making decisions that aren’t fully aligned with who you are or what you want. I’ve experienced this firsthand. At points in my career, I lost sight of my own authenticity, and as a result, I didn’t perform at my best or reach my goals in the way I had envisioned. Having my own coach has been transformative, pushing me to make bold choices that align with my values and aspirations. That experience fuels my passion for providing this service to others—because no matter how accomplished or self-aware we think we are, real growth requires consistent work, occasional reinvention, and the courage to seek support along the way.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My reputation within the market has been built on a combination of high-level corporate experience and a deep commitment to mindfulness and personal growth—two worlds that may seem unrelated but are, in reality, deeply intertwined. Early in my career, I navigated the fast-paced environments of Fortune 500 organizations and private equity, managing teams of over 500 employees and overseeing multimillion-dollar P&Ls. I took on high-stakes leadership roles at a younger age than many of my peers, which required not only strong business acumen but also intentional career navigation, strategic networking, and executive presence. I learned firsthand what it takes to rise in competitive environments while staying adaptable and self-assured.
At the same time, my background in health and nutrition coaching, meditation, and mind-body therapies shaped my understanding of what truly sustains success—not just professional achievement, but personal fulfillment and well-being. Many of my clients come to me for career guidance but quickly realize they’re also seeking balance, clarity, and authenticity in their work. I don’t just coach professionals toward promotions or external milestones; I help them build a bridge between career success and a deeply fulfilling, values-driven life. That ability to blend high-performance leadership coaching with mindfulness and self-awareness has resonated with my clients, setting my approach apart in the industry.
