We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kristian Wilson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristian, thanks for joining us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
In the fitness industry my companies Abundant Fitness Gym and Abundant Dance Studios are bridging the gap between fitness, dance, and entertainment. We have an competitive advantage in the marketplace.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I identify myself as a business builder. I began my journey as a business owner when I was 15 years old, I was a manager of a go-go band based in Washington DC area. I learned a lot about the ups and downs of being your own boss at a young age. Fast-forward I am now the CEO and Founder of Abundant Fitness Gym and Abundant Dance Studios. Abundant Fitness was started in 2018, we focus on personal and semi-private training with our very own House of Abs concept. We are the first place people come to for a slim natural waist and a tone body. We also offer nutritional services for ultimate results. Our dance studio concept was birth from Abundant Fitness Gym. The dance community was organically attracted to the Abundant brand, so as a business owner I had to scale the brand. In 2021 we opened up Abundant Dance Studios with affiliate owner operator Athena Powell, The Abundant brand as a whole is community based, we do fundraisers and B2B partnerships. WE do our absolute best to spread self love and know your worth to our surrounding communities.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to learn to be selfless, I used to be extremely selfish. When building a business you must build yourself first. In the midst of my first 8 months of opening Abundant Fitness Gym I practiced solitude. Personal development is key to expanding and thriving in your business.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Abundant brand was built on social media based on influencing marketing strategies and partnerships with well established.
