Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kristian Kirsch. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Kristian thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Some of the most interesting parts of our journey emerge from areas where we believe something that most people in our industry do not – do you have something like that?
This might be an unpopular opinion but in today’s music industry you have to have a certain sound & appeal to your brand that makes you stand out & not just anyone can come up. It requires a certain level of skill & talent that some people aren’t born with. But the work that goes into it is what takes you further than you could ever imagine.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
My name is Kristian Kirsch & I am more popularly known by my artist name “thakk1d”. “thakk1d” is not only a name but a brand/personality that I created a couple years ago when I began releasing music. It is pronounced like “the kid” but some ppl call me “the k kid” too, whatever you feel fits. But it gives off the impression that I have a youthful, yet impressionable personality, look, & sound. The one is for 1 movement of love & prosperity. That’s kind of the whole motto. I recently changed my artist name, however, to just “K. Kirsch”. I think in doing this, it gives a sense of maturity to what I’m creating & shows my viewers that I don’t need another personality. I’m perfectly fine using my name & being just who I am because at the end of the day it’s the music matters more than the persona. It gives room to grow & brings forth a new way to release in multiple genres because I am not sticking to one specific name, personality, brand, sound, or style. I am doing something ultimately unique that I’ve never seen done before – tackling multiple different genres with different songs simultaneously & using remixes of a song from one genre & remixing it into a different genre. I’m doing something different because it provides versatility & since I feel that I have enough content now I feel that I am ready to give something positive back to my viewers. I have a decent following on tiktok & Instagram that I try to use to my advantage. It’s not the largest but for those who do watch me they are already so loyal & love seeing what I’m ready to put out next, so it makes me excited to grow even more & see what that positivity turns into. It’s helped my music grow so much. I’ve only been doing this for 3 years. & I can see myself doing it for the rest of my life just because of how far I’ve gotten since I started taking it more seriously about 3 years ago. I know it is meant for me. There have been numerous occasions where my music/singing content has blown up on its own merit with no help from a promotion or campaign. It is all organic. & there are many moments I can look back on in my short existence that allow me to have full circle moments, bringing me back to my purpose. It is like divine intervention. Something that is made for me but something I must share with the world. I have crazy opportunities that nobody will see coming that set me apart from everyone else.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I think the very very first step is taking yourself seriously & actually knowing if it is right for you. Is this the life you’re committing to? Because there is so much that comes with it especially if you aren’t familiar with what that looks like. Beyond that it really just depends how dedicated you are to finding the right resources & how to hustle those things in a positive way. Nobody wants to work with an asshole. That was my very first piece of advice I ever got from an old singing coach. When you figure out how to make a significant enough of an impact, you’ll have learned how to play the game.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
If I have to be vulnerable, I think the moment I stopped myself from not only giving up on life entirely, but learning how to actually unlearn my self-destructive patterns, rather than simply managing them was a moment of vulnerability that led to my resilience. I specifically remember a time when I was younger where I would watch the stars at night & look up & watch how they were aligned. I always wondered why I connected with the stars so much. & I didn’t understand it as a young child, but I soon realized it’s because I have the power to light up an entire galaxy. & that’s what made me understand the power I have within myself to change the world with my voice.
