We recently connected with Kristi Price and have shared our conversation below.
Kristi, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
When I got divorced, I made a lot of mistakes when I started dating. I didn’t take care of myself first, take time to heal, realize my worth, and what I really wanted in a partner and a relationship. When I started dating over 17 years ago, I thought everyone who was online dating wanted to meet others for a relationship. This was not the case and I dated some men who were emotionally unavailable and just wanted to have fun. This is fine, no judgment, but not what I wanted. I’m also a giver so I attract the charismatic narcissist types who can’t sustain a healthy relationship. After some dating blunders, I took some time to realize my self worth, do the things that brought me joy and create a life that I loved. During this time, I did extensive research on how to spot red flags when online dating as well as spotting emotionally unavailable and toxic men. Then, I was ready to date but not for a relationship, yet. I wanted to understand how to read profiles better and spot men who weren’t my style while setting better boundaries for myself. Once I was able to spot guys who were aligned with what I was looking for, my friends started asking me to help them date. I helped them write their profiles to attract the right kind of partner for them, how to spot red flags, set better boundaries and know their value. I also taught them approaches to meeting people in real life. I thought to myself, if I can help my friends efficiently date and attract quality partners their style, maybe I can help others! After researching the business, I realized there were no dating coaches in the Philly and NJ area. My motivation behind starting this business was to help others realize their value and not make the same mistakes I did. I wanted them not go through the agony of dating the wrong types of people and start meet amazing people who were their style. After dating coaching for a little over a year, some of the people who approached me had no interest or time to meet people through virtual sites or out and about on their own. This is when my matchmaking services came to fruition.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot? During Covid, dating came to a screeching halt. Recruiting singles in person was suddenly not an option anymore. Because of this, we had to learn how to adapt our business for the virtual world. We developed coaching classes to learn how to meet people via Zoom. We also developed a Virtual Matchmaking Program where we would introduce people for a virtual date. Once they were comfortable with each other, they would meet in a park or for a distanced walk. It was a weird time, but people still needed to find love, probably more than ever. We also started recruiting singles for our clients via online platforms. Now, virtual meetings and coaching calls are a normal part of business.
