We recently connected with Kristi Bogan and have shared our conversation below.
Kristi, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
There have been so many defining moments in my professional life with many trajectories from Nuclear Medicine technologist to Radiologist specializing in Pediatric Interventional and Diagnostic radiology and now starting a MedSpa. I have always been one to like to combine natural remedies with traditional medicine and this has helped me offer a variety of options that most other traditional physicians may not think about. I think outside the box and am entrepreneurial and creative. I love helping and empowering others to be their best selves. Every turn in my life has given me so many lessons that I use on a daily basis to help my patients.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My newest and most exciting venture is the creation of Gioventù MedSpa and Aesthetic Clinic. It all started at a professional conference that I was attending for my subspecialty of Interventional Radiology. One of the new topics being discussed at that particular meeting was IR in Aesthetics. I learned the ways that interventional radiologists were able to incorporate certain aesthetic procedures into their business model. Then about a year later, after my passion grew for treating vascular anomalies, I decided that I also would like to combine my knowledge of lasers and vascular anomalies as well as expand on what else lasers could do. And thus began my journey into laser aesthetics which has now grown into a full service salon and MedSpa.
Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
No. I think every experience I have had throughout my life has taught me invaluable lessons and has prepared me for every next step I took including my road ahead.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
My story is long and filled with many journeys. One of the toughest challenges that I have always faced is that I am fiercely independent and therefore self sufficient. It took me a long time to get to the point where I felt comfortable applying to medical school. Not only is that a difficult feat for most traditional students, but not only had I taken a non-traditional path but I was also 34 years old when I finally started medical school in a foreign country where I had to learn the language quickly. It taught me exactly how strong and capable I was.
