Alright, Kristen thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. The first dollar your business earns is always special and we’d love to hear how your brand made its first dollar of revenue.
Our first client actually came from a Facebook post in a mom group after an Allen hail storm. What Tha Hail is the only women owned and operated hail repair company in the Dallas – Fort Worth area, and we are very proud of that! We also use that to our advantage to gain clients through our mom groups, women – owned business groups, and single females who may not be comfortable going with male – dominated companies. We are working to break the glass ceiling in our industry, and we love watching it shatter!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I originally got into the auto hail repair industry after working for a different repair company. While working for someone else, I noticed a huge distrust in the industry. Don’t get me wrong, every industry has competition, but this was bigger than that. It was unethical and immoral and I knew I didn’t want that to be my legacy. So, I started my own company doing something that I love. What I am most proud of is my company transparency and honesty to our clients, techs, and vendors. We pride ourselves on customer satisfaction and building relationships. Being the only female owned and operated company in our industry, we face a lot of adversity. We have to prove ourselves to a lot of people, but we don’t mind! We pride ourselves on our work, our relationships, and our values.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Our most effective strategy for growing clientele is word-of-mouth! Probably 80% of our clients are referrals from other clients, and we couldn’t think of a better compliment! We don’t do door-to-door sales because we know how uncomfortable it can make people to have a stranger knocking on your door while you’re trying to tend to your kids or family. Our other clients come from events that give back to the community and basic marketing.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Our biggest reputation builder would be our honesty and transparency. We educate every single potential client on all of their options regarding their hail damage. We are in business to make money, but we’re not only in business to make money. We want our clients to know every possibility, every possible outcome, and be fully education on their insurance benefits and how a claim could affect them in the future.
