We recently connected with Kristen Day and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristen, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
On January 9, 2021, we lost our youngest child JJ at the age of 9. JJ died suddenly and unexpectedly in his sleep. To this day, we have no answers as to what happened to our son. JJ had the biggest biggest personality. He was full of life and love. JJ left an impression on everyone he encountered, whether it was his incredible humor, his ability to always be the life of the party or his immense capacity to make everyone feel loved.
Losing JJ left our family feeling lost, left us with the desire to keep the LOVE that JJ had for others going. We knew that we wanted to start something where we we could spread LOVE like JJ to as many people as possible.

Kristen, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As a mom of 3 children, I always looked for ways to instill the value of taking care of others in my children. I looked for ways to get them involved- make donations, volunteering, organizing toy drives, organizing a serving group within our town. Establishing a non profit in memory of our son just felt natural, what we were meant to do in the midst of our grief journey. What started as a way to pour our love for our son into something to help others, became something bigger than we could have ever imagined. The amount of people who support us, the amount of people we can help has grown well beyond what we ever thought possible.
Here we are 2 and a half years later and we are still growing. More and more people are learning about the things we are doing to help others. Not only do we serve those in need with items such as clothes, books, food, hygiene items, and basic necessities, but we bring the community together in doing so. Our mission is to engage the local community and to provide practical support to bring lasting improvements to their lives. We believe that by engaging the community, engaging more children in our mission, we will continue to grow and make a lasting impact.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I think our story in the essence of resilience. Child loss is singularly the most devastating thing one can endure in life. Anyone who is able to stand and move in their grief is truly a story of resilience. For us, moving in our grief was starting LOVE like JJ. We needed something to pour our grief into, we needed a new way to continue loving our son.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Social media can be such a powerful tool for any type of business. In this fast paced world of technology we live in, we have to be able to reach people quickly. And, we have to do it in a way that will grab their attention. Strategies that have helped us to build a stronger social media presence are things like knowing our audience, making our posts personal, expressing gratitude to our supporters ( we couldn’t do any of this without them) and knowing when to post for larger audience capture.
