Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Krista Large. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Krista, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Living Large is not only a play on my last name (Large), but it is a lifestyle. Living Large is slang for a very successful and wealthy person. Though we can certainly look at success from a monetary view, we can define the term in several ways because what makes someone successful is subjective to every person.
Success to me is having the most decorated human experience here on earth! My intentions and desires cannot come true without health being the number one priority! On the other hand, wealth is not worth anything without a healthy, capable body. We need our bodies to think, make decisions, see the world, create, and inspire others.
I believe that Living Large starts when we have a foundation of health. A body that functions at its highest potential will open you up to more opportunities, expansion, and an extraordinary human experience!
Many of my clients approach me wanting to lose weight, have more energy, sleep better, feel better, and look better, and they realize that through the process of changing their habits to align with their definition of health, so much more opens up for them in the process. Not only do their goals manifest, but they experience more fulfillment in the achievement.

Krista, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My interest in being fit started at a very young age. With a last name like, Large, you can imagine how hurtful it would have been to get teased as a kid if I were overweight.
My desire to be fit took a turn for the worst when it became an obsession to be skinny. In high school, I nearly passed out in dance class one day because I was underweight and intentionally not eating. Before fainting, I saw the girl staring back at me in the mirror and empathized with her for the first time. I realized I had a choice. I could continue down this dark path or learn how to do this healthily and pursue an education. I am happy to say that I chose the educational route and decided to go to school to become a nutritionist. Since college, I have worked in the health and wellness industry in different facets. As of 2020, I have been running my own business.
I specialize in habit change and body transformation through my company, Living Large Wellness. Clients seek me out for body recomposition and especially stubborn fat loss. I use many techniques to help clients achieve their ideal body composition, including addressing nutrient deficiencies, food sensitivities, strength training, behavior design, and peptide therapy!
What sets me apart from other nutritionists is the level of care I provide. I teach clients the skills and help them tailor the habits they need to succeed on their own rather than just reading what’s on paper!
I can’t count how many clients check in with me months or even years later, telling me that they look and feel even better than when we finished working together!
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I used to think I was dumb for the longest time. Growing up, I moved schools from a low-income area of Houston to a very affluent part of town. The education system was far better than what I was used to. The kids were smart and were raised by parents who went to college.
After transitioning school districts in the eighth grade, my grades suffered, and my self-esteem lowered. I also made friends with some mean girls who used to call me names like stupid, dumb, and Barbie! Eventually, I started believing it, stopped trying, and this belief remained with me for the next eight years.
When I decided to start a business, I knew that I needed to get over my limiting belief of being “bad a math” if I had any chance at financial success. Before making a dollar in my business, I hired a money coach! In twelve short weeks, I learned how to deepen my relationship with my personal finances, money terminology, and how to break through my money beliefs, and my confidence started to grow! I can say that to this day, getting over my BS story of being “bad at math,” hiring a coach, and taking ownership of this area of my life has been the best decision I have ever made for my personal growth. Now managing money is my favorite part of owning a business!

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
Actually, the opposite is true. For over two and a half years, I lived on the income from my business alone. My first year was about consistency and producing a steady means of living. In my second year I quadrupled my income and tasted what it was like to make good money for the first time in my life.
This year I started strong, and then I burned out HARD. I had a phase during the summer of 2022 where I felt all I was doing was investing my time, energy, and money into my business. I was sacrificing weekends, staying up late, taking risks, and not reaping the rewards.
My energy and love for what I did became less and less. For a week straight, I sat at my computer and cried. I had no goals, didn’t want goals, wasn’t inspired and began to question if I wanted to keep doing what I was doing. Don’t get me wrong; I loved what I did and the impact I was making, but learning the business operations piece coupled with a change in fewer leads coming through the door took me for a loop! I felt like my energy to make sales turned from attractive to desperate, I was operating too much in my masculine, and that is where I decided to draw the line and seek out part-time work! At first, this made me feel like a failure, but. I realized that was just my ego getting butt hurt.
Within a week, I was able to acquire an incredible part-time job, and it has been the biggest blessing as an entrepreneur! It has changed how I show up and operate in my business. There is no desperation to make sales because I now have more than one income stream! My masculine ways of trying to control outcomes have now turned into a feminine way of letting them flow to me! The part-time work I do now is directly within my field of work, so it’s been exciting to learn more and has only enriched my expertise and experience as a nutritionist! I can’t recommend this enough to someone who is just starting in entrepreneurship or who is finding that their energy is shifting away from love to scarcity!
