We were lucky to catch up with Krista Landis recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Krista thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
To be perfectly honest the idea & name came to me fairly easy. I’ve always loved to travel and was fascinated by the idea of a passport that was filled with stamps from dozens of countries around the world. It may be just a small little mark of proof that you visited a location, but for those who allow themselves to be fully immersed by the richness of the culture, the unique experiences, food and traditions specific to each country they visit they’re likely to have a long standing (perhaps life long) impression of those places imprinted on them forever. A passport stamp might signify a lot of different things to many people, for me it is a reminder of all the locations I’ve been fortunate enough to visit as well as a significant place holder for all the memories attached to that specific destination.
I chose to name my company ‘Stamps in my Passport’ because the name perfectly reflects one of my ultimate goals, which is to have a passport completely filled with stamps (actually I’d love to have multiple completely filled).
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hello everyone! My name is Krista and I’m a digital content creator on Instagram, Facebook & Pinterest as well as a travel blogger. I have been traveling since I was 9 months old and I’ve always loved it. Many of my fondest memories have been created while traveling and I’m so grateful I’ve been fortunate to have a life filled with unique experiences.
I began my company in February of this year (24′) to share my passion for traveling & travel planning with the world. On my blog you’ll find recaps of recent trips, travel hacks and insights/recommendations as well as travel & planning tips, you’ll also have access to dozens of itineraries on my website through my selection of travel itineraries for the US, Europe and Mexico (with more countries & US States coming in the future).
This past year I’ve worked with numerous people to help them with their travel planning, provided them with assistance as they organized and created the best itinerary for their upcoming adventures and lent insight and suggestions for perfecting & catering their travel plans to meet all their travel goals.
I would love to help you craft a plan for the best adventure you’ve ever had & help you work out the kinks and wrinkles to ensure your dream trip goes off without a hitch! You can reach me at [email protected] where we can discuss your travel plans & goals and create the perfect plan for your next adventure.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My main focus and goal is to encourage others to dream big, to help them plan their perfect dream trip and assist in planning a trip they’ll remember for the remainder of their lifetime. Sometimes that requires getting out of their comfort zone, trying something new, and taking a risk…but to that I say, no risk no reward!
Over the years I’ve learned that the best, most rewarding moments often come from experiencing or doing something that we felt timid to try & from overcoming our fears (or what held us back). My mission is to provide the encouragement and assistance during the planning portion, to help remove worries, fears of the unknown and to find answers to their questions so that my clients are able to travel with peace of mind, be fully present on their vacation/travels, relax and enjoy their journey.
If I’m able to accomplish that & my client is happy and enjoyed their trip I feel it’s a job well done and that it was a success.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Having the opportunity to encourage others to try something new, to share my insights and experiences with others who will benefit from my knowledge and to assit others in planning a dream adventure. I love hearing the stories about each special moment & adventure from their trip after they return. Especially when my clients mention that everything went smoothly and they felt prepared for all the contingencies if something had gone off plan. It is so rewarding to learn that they greatly benefited from the time and effort it took to plan their itinerary/researching information for them about their destinations etc and that it saved them from a mishap or potential disaster.
While I create my travel guides/itineraries I always take into account contingency plans/back up options if plan A-B or C & D go arry (in my experience, it’s always helpful to have a few back up plans/options available and already researched prior to travel. It keeps foiled plans or mishaps from dampening the spirits/mood of the trip and prevents those unexpected things from ruining an otherwise perfect trip!)
