We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Krista Gorzelanczyk a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Krista thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?

To be successful has nothing to do with luck it has everything to do with you.
It takes hard work, determination, dedication, and manifestation of your ideas. It takes the belief within your self that you can do anything. It takes sacrifice and no sleep. Also what your ideas of success may differ from others. It’s not always about money and status. It’s about what truly makes you happy.

Krista, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

My name is Krista Gorzelanczyk and I have been a hairdresser for 27 years. During the pandemic I started making bracelets as a form of relaxation and learned about crystals and all their properties. This turned into me opening an Etsy shop and then selling in other people’s boutiques as the stores starting reopening after the shutdowns. I really wanted my own shop and also have a place to do readings as I am also a certified psychic medium. I have a fun workshop in my store and an area where I do readings. I found the perfect location in Richfield Ohio. It’s in a building that is 200 years old and an old stagecoach stop many years ago. It’s a charming , unique and cool spot that has a calming energy. People love to just hang out and explore the many treasures in my store. I have my handmade jewelry along with beautiful crystals, candles, incense, clothing, accessories and so much more.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

I am now in the process of possibly adding a coffee/shop cafe into my space. More space has become available and I’m going back and forth trying to decide if I want to add this into my business. I would serve coffee,and some food and have sitting area all throughout my shop where people can hang out or work or visit. Not sure if this will happen but I will soon as the details are being ironed out.

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?

My side hustle did turn into my business. But as we all know in this economy it is very difficult so I still have my regular job and do that a couple days during the week to keep everything going. Some days are a struggle but I keep working hard to make it work.
