We recently connected with Krishawna and have shared our conversation below.

Krishawna , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?

I knew I first wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path in music professionally when I was a child. I was inspired by entertainment television. I watched shows like “In Living Color”, “Martin”, “The Jamie Foxx” show, “BET”, “MTV”, “Bobby Jones Gospel” and so many others.

Krishawna , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I am an International Recording Artist. I’ve been fortunate to have 2 singles top the charts at #1 in Europe along with several songs from my albums to chart as well.
I’ve performed several shows in the U.S. and the U.K. London and Paris have been my favorite places to perform. I’m looking forward to future performances and meeting more of my supporters around the world.

I’m originally from Sacramento California. I currently reside in the Twin Cities when I’m not traveling for music. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends along with spreading light and love through my music.

I was introduced to music at an early age and was heavily influenced by my Mother Brenda Williams who is an exceptional singer. My father, also a music lover, encouraged me to be my best. My experiences in church helped to shape my approach in regard to transparency in my music. I got into the music industry through meeting an incredible individual, Ben Obi, CEO of Savannah Street Music. He is also my music representative.

As a result of the leadership and direction of Ben Obi, I’ve learned structure, commitment, discipline, dedication and how to execute and accomplish goals that lead to success.

I believe what sets me apart from others is my message. My style and delivery in music isn’t traditional. If you listen closely, I’m always tellings stories. I share my life experiences. I freely give gems that I’ve gained from things I’ve learned on my journey by putting them in my lyrics.

I understand my purpose and I know who I am. I was never meant to blend in or match what’s considered acceptable by society. I’m not afraid to be bold and stand out. My faith is strong and God is the head of my life.

I acknowledge my blessings and am grateful for the little things in life. I don’t despise small beginnings and am thankful that God has allowed me to prosper in so many things.

My greatest accomplishment in life are my children. I’m most proud of having the opportunity to live my vision as an Independent Artist and impact the lives of so many in a positive way through my music.

I’m excited to be working on my 4th and latest album along with many visuals that will be released this year. I’m also in a featured film that will be released this year as well. I recently released a double sided Vinyl in London on Soul Undercover Records in connection with Savannah Street Music. I’m also preparing for more travel, performances, music marketing
and promotion along with Artist
collaborations, which I enjoy very much. The future is bright and I’m excited to keep spreading positivity through my music.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My creative journey is driven by my mission to be a good steward over the gift God has given me. My goal is to represent heavens Kingdom well. My hope is that my life and music will be an example that will lead people to the Light.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

I’ve developed resilience through commitment, dedication and consistency. I’ve learned that even when progression doesn’t happen right away, eventually if you don’t give up, you’ll reap the fruits of your labor. Success is rarely immediate. It takes time and you have to work for it. When you succeed from working diligently, you value and appreciate it more.
