Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kris Vzim. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Kris thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Colloquially, I’m from “the mud” Port Arthur, Texas; Land of the Trill.
90’s Southern street-raised, student athlete whom “did it; the way God wants you to…” Then life took place after “protection” from a tight knit traditional heavily policed black community..”
Introduced to the unspoken power agendas for others in high places of affluence.
The early realization that if you’re not useful you’er useless.
So it makes sense to dream of becoming an Accomplished filmmaker/athlete.., Right???
Homeless, a starving artist striving to make more money to be a better father that he never had.
GRAMMY Nominated for work done with world renowned recording artists; sleeping on Metro bus stop benches.
Tryna figure out this mental conundrum; an introduction to an affluent man and an invite to an affluent event. Where I learned: “the fastest way to your millions is thru non profit…”
The self-induced, Underground King of Commerce moniker was created.
I realized most creatives are looking for money to produce projects, attain equipment or distribute creative works independently. Yet, stuck in the financial pendulum of “pay bills or not to pay bills” so you work wherever and whenever you can… lacking the true vision of your best life.
Be the solution, insight hope by showing the way to financial empowerment to underserved communities of color, curating instruction from generational-wisdom for generational-wealth.
Take a risk and create something that will out live you.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My mom took me on vacation to Disneyland when I was about 10 yrs old. I experienced the Back to the Future attraction and got to participate in a scene creation.
I was hooked on the process.
Abraham Lincoln High school; we had a media technology program that taught video/broadcast production where I got my camera operator and editor skills developed.
During college thru a frat brother; I met my mentor that pulled me into the film industry.
I worked with some of the biggest names in the industry still today in 2024.
From my outside the box influences in my life; I’ve earned awards and merits for cinematography, best editing and best movie trailer.

But still aware of the financial gap between cultures and communities. So my work as an award-winning filmmaker pivoted into consulting other creatives on creative financial strategies to fund there projects and or businesses.
I’m most proud of being able to share with and encourage my sons: they can bet on themselves and do better than they think or imagine. Then be able to show them proof.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
As a creative; we hold the historical perspective of our cultures from our eyes thru space & time.
We shape world perception via our various disciplines detailing perspective.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder… if beholder is left to their own limited exposure.
Example: I didn’t I liked country music till that’s all I was around. I learned to appreciate is art form.
The creative is the unspoken keeper and curator of universal abstract.

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
Non-Fungible Tokens and blockchain is a game changing tech that can, has & will be the creative’s economic Savior or continued chattel slavery.
The success of recording artist Tory Lanez is a great example of the power of NFT; by selling 1million copies in 1minute.
With proper business structure; securing interest in one’s own intellectual property, opens blockchain-backed monetary doors once gatekept by insiders.
