We recently connected with Kris D. Roberts and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kris D., thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I had the privilege to work on Cobra Kai season 6 filming in 2024 in Atlanta Georgia as a featured character, non speaking unfortunately
This was incredibly significant having been a fan of the Karate Kid franchise all my life.
Furthermore, it was only 5 years prior that I decided to pursue film opportunity as an actor having been on my first film set ever in 2019 in Pitts burgh Pennsylvania
I packed up and moved to sw Florida to do just that.
5 years after starting i mow ha e 39 total film/tv credits and im back home knocking on doors in the North East market

Kris D., love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Kris D. Roberts is a native of NW Pennsylvania though he spent most of his life residing between Florida and Pennsylvania. Kris had his first film role as a background actor on a large project that filmed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After that project Kris decided to again relocate to South West Florida to pursue film opportunity. Kris returned home to NW Pennsylvania, after 5 years in Florida, as a more established and disciplined actor. Now with 39 total credits ranging from small independent projects to larger television series, eg., Cobra Kai, Kris now aims to work in the North East markets with a focus on crime drama whether television or featured film
Kris continues to hone his craft as an upcoming talented character actor, gleaning from various methods of acting.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I remember hearing this for the first time…i was 16 and i seen it on the movie “Boyz in the Hood”…at that time i began associating with two members of a gang who had moved into my neighborhood from Chicago to begin setting up a chapter in which roughly a year later, more authoritive figures arrived from Chicago to make it official…
During that time i would strive to impress and fit in with those two, their were numerous times i would be there for them to help meet their needs…whether they were hungry or thirsty…and in turn they satisfied my need to belong..a deep hole in my soul i sought to fill created by a childhood of brokenness and instability..
I had a basketball court in my backyard that became a beautiful mural of this gangs graffiti, much to my mothers dismay…
I remember playing ball one eve with my two before mentioned friends when a large white Cadillac pulled up out front, full of gang members who had JUST arrived from Chicago…my friend “Taz” ran out to greet them, he hollered for me to come meet these guys…i had already earned a street name, due to my volatile and extremely explosive temper, a defect since conquered, my “name” became “Lil Dago”..
Long story short, roughly a year later, me, a small town white kid from Franklin Pa was invited to join one of the most deadly street gangs in the nation…i had arrived, i finally belonged to something…
I told my mother i joined a gang and her response was, “go live with them then.”…so i did, which was actually a relief for their bedroom was closest to the road, due to my choices i feared for their lives if rival gangs ever decided to pull a “drive by” on my house…
So after about 6 months of living in our neighborhood headquarters and being fully immersed in gang life i had a moment of clarity, largely due to the federal agents kicking in our front door, an investigation had been underway for quite sometime, largely focused on the second group that came from Chicago.
I begin to watch members disappear and reappear with large amounts of cash and actually telling me they were being paid by the FBI for information on my “roommates”….
All i could think, all guns are gonna point at me, the only white kid, they surely would assume i was talking to the cops..it was then i made the decision i wanted out…
I will never forget it..there was an “open contract” on my life at the age of 17…they wanted me dead…
Remember those two guys from way back at the beginning of my narrative? They saved my life…instead of being murdered, i was “blessed out” of the Almighty Latin King Nation,

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
At the root of my motivation is at risk youth, having been one. I am actively submitting and networking with local juvenile detention centers to go in and share my story of resilience and hope
In my recovery I have also been blessed to work in treatment centers as well as manage numerous recovery homes, aiding others in recovery. Giving back.
Also I love helping others who have decided to venture into this industry with tips and advice from my experiences
