Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to K+R Coordination Kyle + Rachel . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi K+R Coordination, thanks for joining us today. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
Rachel is the mastermind behind our social media presence and, knowing that it plays a huge role in generating business growth, she pays close attention to the latest trends, posts of other businesses in our industry and most importantly, keeps our followers engaged and interactive. We have found that Instagram generates the most business for us so it’s very important that our profile stays relevant to continue to develop connections with existing clients and build trust with potential clients.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We both reside in Holland, MI. Kyle, with husband Jonathon and twins, Boone and Bear and Rachel, with husband Brandon and fur-baby Luna. We consider ourselves fun, adventurous, outdoorsy, and love spending time with our families.
We both realized we wanted to go into the wedding planning business after planning our own. We loved the whole creative process, the organization, and the challenges of budgeting. After everything we planned and envisioned had become a reality with our own weddings, we knew then that that is what we wanted to do for other couples.
We provide different levels of service to accommodate every budget. We offer day of coordination, as well as partial and full wedding planning services. We also provide event management/coordination for smaller, non-wedding functions. Our end goal is to advocate for our clients, and we guarantee precise coordination with extraordinary results.
We believe problem solving is one of the most important characteristics of a truly successful wedding planner, so we are always prepared and have a backup plan in place if something should fall through. Typically, one of the biggest challenges of planning a wedding is the client’s vision vs their budget. We help our clients prioritize where to spend and where to cut. We network with many reputable vendors, and we aren’t afraid to negotiate.
What sets us apart from others is that our passion isn’t really the work, it’s the people. It’s focusing on their stories, their beauty, and their dreams. We want to be a part of all aspects of bringing their dreams to reality. No detail is too big or too small for us to handle and our process is customized because we know no two weddings are alike. Our services are always tailored to our clients’ individual preferences and personalities. We know the highs and lows of every cost and adapt to budgets big and small to make every wedding a success.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
The most pivotal change we made was leaving our comfortable, established careers to become event planners. Rachel worked as a Vision Rehab Therapist after earning a master’s degree in Vision Rehab Therapy and Rehabilitation Counseling and Kyle worked as a Chief Stewardess on private Mega-Yachts after earning a bachelor’s degree in marketing and business. However, we both knew we were destined for a career in event planning and met when we started working together at the same wedding venue in Holland, MI. Soon enough, we realized we shared the same passion, vision, and work ethic for wedding planning and, what lacked in our roles with our former employer, is what inspired us to take a leap of faith and go off on our own. We are also lucky to have incredibly supportive husbands who dared us to take a chance. With our shared visions, ambition and friendship, K + R Coordination was launched in January 2023.
