We recently connected with Kourtney Grant and have shared our conversation below.

Kourtney , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

After having Braylon “The Preemie Warrior” , I wanted to document our lives. He was born extremely premature at 23 weeks and 5 Days. I spent 367 Days going back and forth to the hospital to spend time with him and learn how to properly care for him. While he was in the hospital both me and his father were working and going to school to per-sue our degrees. Braylon was discharged in November 2019, a month before the Pandemic hit the US. It was so overwhelming for me total care of Braylon and work overnight, sometimes I would have to take him back to the hospital because of his respiratory problems and my job of course didn’t understand that. I was laid off instantly after calling out because of Braylons health issues. This is when the Content creating really started. Not because we needed the money at that time we didn’t even know that you could get paid for posting photos or videos of your everyday life but because I was home all day with this remarkable preemie baby who had less than 10% chance of making it out the hospital alive.One day Mark, Braylons dad came home and proposed a business idea, since I was already home and it was hard to find a job that would work with mines and Braylons schedule we start Exquisite 3D Fragrances, where we sell some of the top Perfumes and Cologne right from home. A few months after that we started Lolabunniehairco.com, where we could offer hair extensions. Because of our drive and commitment, Braylon was able to be properly taken care of and the businesses have been running smoothly. Braylon no longer requires his ventilator, he walks and he signs to communicate with us. He is making some of the best strides and has beaten all the odds.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

We were finally able to move in bigger home. All of our money went into moving so for a few months we had to put a pause on business and focus on getting our home together. There are days that we rest as well instead of putting to much on ourselves to produce content.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

Building our social media presence took about 2 years total. We currently have 106K followers on our Facebook, Braylon the Preemie Warrior and Family. It’s been times when we have been restricted and locked out of our pages . We never gave up we kept posting on our other platforms until our issues we resolved. Never give up because sometimes it just happens out he blue, it takes 1 post and 1 video to make your page grow. It only takes 1 to help spread awareness.
