Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Koriyan Beasley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Koriyan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
I created the name “The Kosmic Koach” as an extension of my social media identity, Kosmic Ko. My nickname is Ko/Koko and I’ve always been known to be different, otherworldly, and magical by those around me. I curated the name Kosmic to fit with the K of my name and after moving towards the coaching business focusing on spirituality, lifestyle, and metaphysics “The Kosmic Koach” came easy.
My podcast is titled “Sow The Soul”. It’s a spiritual lifestyle based podcast created by my partner Sam and I. “As Above, So Below” is a prominent quote from the Emerald Tablet that my partner channeled in a meditation as a title. We thought that was overused within our community, so we dug a little deeper. The entire quote is actually “As above, so below. As within, so without. As the universe, so the soul.” showing the balance, reflection, and connection between all things. We decided to take “so the soul” and make it a play on words using “sow” meaning to plant instead because we believe that you should put your love and authenticity into everything that you do. And that we see our podcast as a way to do that while planting seeds of evolution into our listeners.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Koriyan Beasley, but most know me as Kosmic Ko. I’m an intuitive entrepreneur and have been serving my community for over 4 years now. I started my journey as an intuitive reader offering spiritual guidance and motivation to my clients in times of worry, confusion, or stress. They would come to me for that or help finding resources, tools, and more. Over time that expanded and I began to teach myself astrology as well.
After a while, I began to notice how some of my community needed more consistent and personalized guidance. That led me back to a career path I had always had a passion about but neglected, coaching!
I am a Metaphysical Coach. I connect one on one with clients to reveal to them more about themselves, their life lessons and destinies, and help curate growth in their desired areas of life. This is done through intuitive services, astrology, and customized lesson plans using techniques like journaling, affirmations, meditation, and more. I create content and find resources that would help my clients beyond their blockages. We then work together and check in consistently to continue to the progress throughout each month.
My clients are those who feel stuck in any area of life such as love, career, creating good habits, or finding spiritual fulfillment. They’re everyday people who need help seeing and creating the path of their life. My clients are those who have put forth effort on their own, but are seeing to go further by utilizing the resources available.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe that my reputation has been built by maintaining my authenticity and having strong boundaries. In the metaphysical, intuitive community there are a lot of us from all different paths of life and we are all human learning and growing just like our clients. Having a balance of privacy, integrity, and honesty when it comes to your social media platforms is important. People want to relate to you, but they don’t want or need to know all of your business; you have to find your happy medium. Find your image and maintain it.
I also believe that strong boundaries have helped me build my reputation as well. I uphold my clients to the same standards that I would uphold myself. We know the saying “All money isn’t good money”. Don’t let money be your driving motive. You have to know when to turn clients down, when to decline offers that aren’t in alignment with you and your plans, etc. Who and what you are associated with is important, people watch and see more than you know.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Actually, I recently experienced a pivot in my career. I opened a online metaphysical shop offering tools to help my clients in their spiritual journey, but I realized that although I love doing that as well the way that I was doing it was not in alignment with my passion. It took away from the personal interaction that I think is necessary for me and what I have to offer. I decided to temporarily close my shop until I figure out a way to offer those tools in a way that suits me better.
As an entrepreneur, we have to not cling to what we may see as failures or setbacks and try to keep our momentum, passion, and creativity flowing. It’s okay if you have to take a break, change something, or stop all together. It’s a learning process and each step is teaching you something that’s necessary for your destiny.
