Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kody and Soudabah . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Kody and Soudabah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Towards the end of 2020 the team behind St Pete is Super Cool were stuck at a crossroads, stay at their jobs or take the leap and start our business. In the beginning of 2021 we decided it was enough talking and to take a chance! Your only young once you know! It was scary leaving our jobs that made sure our bills were paid and start a venture that wouldn’t see income right away. We had the full support of our families though and throughout that year we pushed ourselves hard to show the community of St. Pete that St Pete is Super Cool was a media company that stood for the little guys! Looking back at that year we are both really happy we took that chance and are so proud of the community we have created along the way. St Pete is Super Cool is growing stronger every day and we just can’t wait to help more people realize how super cool they really are!

Kody and Soudabah , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
St Pete is Super Cool aims to use the power of story telling through various outlets to connect local consumers to local artists and businesses in our community. Our aim is to show locals how vastly diverse our business community is and pull them away from the greedy hands of big corporations! Need great coffee well we have plenty of awesome local coffee shops! Groceries? Plenty of small and local places offering better goods at better prices! And that’s what we do show people the local alternatives to these questions. Some of our favorite ways to do this is our podcast Good Morning St Pete or the blog on our website. We also work hard to create compelling content to share on social media! We understand that when small accounts work together to extend their reach then more people are seeing what they have to offer. Advertising can be scary cause you never know if it will work. Our guarantee is that you aren’t just another client giving us your hard earned dollars, but a member of our amazing community who’s unique voice deserves to be heard and we work hard to make sure people hear yours!
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
The artists of our community have worked hard in the background creating the beauty that is all over the walls of St. Pete! Many of us have even brought pieces of their work into our homes. They work hard for very little pay or recognition to add beauty and color to our everyday. As St. Pete grows bigger don’t forget about our local artists! They need us as their community to stand behind them so they don’t get lost in the noise that is big development! It was them who gave space to our local businesses who then added to this unique city we call home!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
St Pete is Super Cool’s main mission is to uplift and share the voices of the locals of St. Pete! The ones who believed in this city when it was only the locals who cared about it. The ones who put their hopes and dreams into art, restaurants, and shops that tourists and locals enjoy today! Without them seeing the potential of St. Pete and taking a chance we would still be just a small city in the crazy state that we call Florida!
