KJ, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

The power of Faith, Prayer, and Belief can help overcome depression.

In 2015, I suffered from depression from being evicted twice, from the passing of my step mom who saved my life by taking a bullet for me as a young child, from the passing of my aunt who was helping me pay for my college education, and from everything else that life was throwing art me.

One day, after going to the doctor and discussing my depression mood swings and suicidal thoughts, the doctor prescribed me antidepressant medication. I started to take the medication until a thought came across my mind. “Why am I taking this antidepressant medication that’s making me think that its’s helping me but in reality it’s not. I came across two quotes that helped changed my life.

Overcoming Depression Quotes:
1. Train your mind to see positivity in every situation.
2. Be th role model you needed when you were younger.

So, I then created O & O (ONE AND ONLY) five segment brand. Five segments that helped me take my mind off being depressed and it’s something that I enjoy.

Hi, I’m KJ Abrams Owner/ CEO of O & O (ONE AND ONLY) Clothing Apparel. I got into the retail industry after I overcame depression. I wanted to create a brand that reflects everything that I love and enjoy doing (Sports/Urban Apparel, Financial Literacy, Community, Sports, and Entertainment). I wanted to own a urban sports apparel brand. In this Urban brand we offer more than just clothing, we want to help make an impact in the world. Our name alone, sets us a part from others. It is unique and catchy O & O/ One And Only. Everyone is their own unique individual, just embrace it. I want my company to be known for always spreading positivity, encouragement, inspiration, and motivation to all. My goal is to be the best Urban Sports Brand.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.

One thing I do to keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty is by having personal invites to events that I host throughout the year. Some of my events, I do open it up to the public. Majority of my events, I have personal invites. The personal invites are to my customers, community/business partners and to my supports. I want them to feel exclusive and to be happy they are a part of this exclusive brand club.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

A a few key pieces helped me build my reputation within my market are:

1. Community Service/ Community Partners- I want my brand to be known for the great work that we do in the community. So, we attend multiple events throughout the city. We often create relationships with community partners and collaborate to do awesome work in the community working with developing the youth, sponsoring local sports teams, even giving back our time with volunteer opportunities to help those in need.

2. Brand Ambassadors: I have great talented individuals who are great in their industry (DJ’s, Music Artist, Athletes) to become a brand ambassador. They help spread the word about O& O and, they also look the best when representing and wearing clothing brand.
