We recently connected with Kiwayne Morrow and have shared our conversation below.

Kiwayne , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

I came up with the name of the company when I was talking to my therapist and was trying to make business cards and etc. I was finding myself struggling with coming up with slogans and catchy sayings to promote my business. My therapist provided me with some homework to see if the original name “KREATIVE KOLOURS BY KAM” would stay or if I needed to change the name. I thought long and hard for the weekend. I was leaning towards the original name but my niece was listening to a song and I heard ” LEGENDARY!!!” So I took the word back to my therapist and we played with it for a while. We finally came up with “LEGENDARY KREATIONS & EXPERIENCES (L.K.E)” and I agreed on it. The name of the company means so much to me because I believe it was provided to me by so many signs: classmate who passed away name her son ‘Legend” , the song my niece was listening to, and because I want to build a legacy that will be legendary and will always be remembered for the excellent work and experiences clients receive from L. K. E.

Kiwayne , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Kiwayne A. Morrow but I go by “KAM” and I am the founder/CEO of “Legendary Kreations & Experiences (L.K.E) were “We only create legendary experiences for all to remember!” We are based as of right now in Birmingham, Al but service other surrounding areas were we create and execute decor for special events. Events such as but not limited to: baby showers, birthday events, weddings, high school signing days, college off to school events. You have an idea in mind it is our job and purpose to make it happen for you. L. K. E is mostly proud and excited about rebranding of this company. Each step in life requires an evolution and I decided why not make my brand something that would be a legacy and would be legendary. LKE prides itself on providing extraordinary experiences that speak for themselves. ‘No one remembers unless it’s LEGENDARY’

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

I first took interest in this industry when my best friend’s mother was trying to throw a surprise party for my best friend. The planning and making sure everything was set up was an adrenaline rush for me. Most would say it was stressful and probably would be their last time doing it. I was the opposite and took a liking to it. So I started doing other events for friends and family members and people was like you should start your own business. I started researching and looking at other local business. A lesson that I had to unlearn was most of the business that I was researching and looking at were already established and made a name for themselves. I later was introduced to an event expertise by the name of Aleta Scroggins, who provided great tips and knowledge about the industry and now is my mentor. She reminds me daily that every business is different and should have some element of surprise that should set your business apart from others. One of my many affirmation “Many can craft but KAM can KREATE! KAMlations 4:10”

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

Funding for me comes from working my primary/secondary job and putting that money aside to be able to do things I need. At one point, I quit working my primary job and went full time focusing on my business. Later, I decided I needed a more solid income for my lifestyle and to maintain my business. But my ideal goal is to be able to be full time one again. So I’m looking for ways or people/business to support L. K. E.
