We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kitandwe Mansoor (AKA Shotta Glock) a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kitandwe , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you manage your own social media?
First of all I think in this generation social media is a necessity in order to run and grow a successful business despite the old days where you had to pin posters or pay for radio campaigns with social media you can reach millions of potential customers with just a few clicks and a good budget. I own two companies, one is “Shotta Glock Entertainment” (A Record label) And “Trust Word Management” (A Management Company) which handles clients from Musicians, Athletes, Social Media influencers and many more we manage literally everything from social media, bookings, client emails and other business related inquiries. We have a well dedicated team that really understands what they are doing to the point that my other company “Shotta Glock Entertainment” is managed by my management company a bit funny.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Kitandwe Sudais Mansoor a 17 year old entrepreneur I was always told I had that entrepreneurial mindset at a very young age of 14 I was a music lover and I had a dream of starting a record label I didn’t know where to start and I was from a religious household where music was banned but it didn’t stop me from chasing my dream I started doing research about record labels a couple of months after I turned 16 I thought it was time to put all my learning into action and started my record label “Shotta Glock Entertainment” I had learned the basics about record labels and I started working with artists giving them single or album deals with a revenue split in favor of them because at the moment I never had any leverage to negotiate a better deal that was until 2022 when I signed a multi-year distribution deal with “Empire” one of the biggest and most respectable labels in the world at the moment I could see my dreams getting closer and closer after signing the deal I hit up “RYDERMADE” and told him about everything and we agreed on making a dope album that’s going to break the charts as of the this interview the album is in the works and will be one of the best pieces of work you will ever hear. After a period of time I decided to open my other Company “Trust Word Management” to help me manage all my artists under one roof instead of going for alternatives.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
Funding my business wasn’t easy it was really a hard thing to do at first my dad did the funding but it still required a lot of money which made me think of an investor but I quickly scratched it off the board cause I knew the investor would like to take a certain percentage of my label so I resulted to ask some family members for some cash to help me out which also didn’t work because my uncle told me to quit all my dreams and focus on my studies which is not bad but it’s not always good to rely on one thing for your future. So after he told me that I had no choice but to ask my dad for more money which he did and helped us get the label running again.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
We haven’t got a lot of reputation in the industry but honestly I think we are almost there at first I think what helps us sky rocket is our deal with Empire and the other is us working with “RYDERMADE” most talented and dopest artist I know.
