We were lucky to catch up with Kirsten Goetzelman recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Kirsten thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. undefined
At Enso, our entire brand has been been created from innovation. When I first dabbled with the idea of becoming a business owner, I knew I didn’t want to just create a brand from something everyone was doing- but something that was going to cause a huge impact and change to my community. Thats where the idea for the first product of Enso came. We invented and patented the first of its kind self stirring wax warmer for Estheticians in the treatment room. This idea will change the way Estheticians have been doing business for the last 70 years by innovative changes to an existing product.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
It all got started with a podcast mic and a closet. I became a licensed Esthetician 12 years ago never dreaming of what I am doing today. Waxing was not something I felt passionate about in school, and shrugged off learning about it. Years later, and working for a boutique wax studio, I fell instantly in love with the instant gratification and the trust clients have with you during vulnerable services. I wanted to get involved with my community a little more, specifically because I didn’t have many local Esthetician friends, which led me to make the podcast. The podcast would forever skyrocket me into a whole world of Entrepreneurship I never knew I wanted to be in. I met amazing likeminded people who all owned their own businesses, and was taking life into their own hands, Being the person on the other side of the stories, it encouraged me to go off and explore the possibilities myself. The Podcast ultimately led me to deeper conversations around our market and how this industry was underserving their customers (us). I decided it was time waxing got an upgrade. So I founded Enso, a brand for Estheticians that challenge the way we work by creating the first of its kind patented self stirring wax warmer. Along side our warmer, we also create wax that gets right to the point, leaving out all the marketing fluff other companies claim (Because Estheticians are smarter than that). Today, we have launched our first wax series, Penny hard and soft wax. Our wax warmer has been in development and manufacturing since 2021 but are excited to say it launched this fall. Giving back to the community has always been a mission for our brand, so we are excited to be here today.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
For all my business ventures, community has been the core of its success. I love getting to connect with people on social media in a deeper way than just posting and leaving the platforms which I think in return has helped grow all my brands.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Building an audience on social media has been one of the most impactful business strategies I have done. From the start, I’ve always connected with my audience as if I was texting a friend. My advice to those seriously looking to start in the social media world beyond the technical parts is to remember that you serve a purpose to someone on the other side of the phone, and thats enough to matter.
