We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kirsten & Cam Creative duo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kirsten & Cam below.
Kirsten & Cam , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
One of our most meaningful projects we’ve worked on was our concept video “Miracle Love” inspired by the song Miracle love by Matt Corby. This project was dedicated to Cam’s late father who passed away earlier this year. We put a lot of time and effort into making this concept video meaningful for not only us but for our family. We used two of our students; Catherine, and Meghan to make this vision come to life. The video was shot and Edited by John Fallon of Fallon studios RI. This video overall was to carry on Cam’s fathers legacy and show how much he impacted his family as well as the world throughout his life. We really enjoyed creating this one as well as dancing in it.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We are Kirsten and Cam Creative Duo, We are a married creative duo who choreograph, perform and teach from coast to coast. One of our goals has always been to create an environment for students to feel comfortable and keep them wanting to learn. Being choreographers, we want our choreography to inspire others and to move people with our story telling. A final goal that we have aimed for is to perform our own art while we continue to create. We continue to enjoy inserting ourselves in the process and we feel that it brings an extra meaning to our work.
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Some resources we wish we knew about earlier; growing up in the competition dance/convention world I think we both wish we took advantage of those classes more and made more connections earlier on. We always tell our students to get out there and take those open classes as well as continue to make new connections, we feel as though it really helps each dancer push themselves outside their comfort zone.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
One of the most rewarding parts of being an artist is as a teacher seeing the connection between the student and the lesson click. We love watching a student go from being a dancer to being an artist. As choreographers seeing the visual come to life is super rewarding and seeing all of the different perspectives people have on our work when we present it.
