We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kira Deevah. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kira below.
Hi Kira , thanks for joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
I believe the sole thing both of my parents did right was allow me to grow up alone. I had to learn resilience at a very young age because I was operating in survival mode. Once I overcame any obstacles in my way. I realized I wasn’t alone and the creator of the universe was guiding me along the way. I am enough. I am Light. I am Love. All i truly ever needed was me.
Kira , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started in the entertainment industry as a hip-hop artist/ model. I enjoyed the experience as much as I enjoyed the culture. I just didn’t want to be placed in a box. I knew that I had more to offer .I enjoy speaking to people from all walks of life so I changed my direction in the industry to media. For many years I began to network all across the world to build long-lasting industry relationships. This encouraged me to create “The Kira Deevah Show ” a Platform to merge the gap between creativity and digital performance. Bringing awareness to creatives across the globe. With the success of the show, my former guest began to reach out to me for guidance on their careers. Soon after Deevah Entertainment Inc. was formed. A safe and suitable place for music talents to be referred to a variety of gigs as well as focus and grow in their career.
Some of the services we provide are but are not limited to High-Quality Marketing, Public Relations, Music Distribution/Publishing Artist Development, Management Services, Music Recording, and Artwork Design. At Deevah Entertainment We solve the problems that most creatives don’t have the time to, our assistance in place so they can focus on their creativity.
What sets me apart from others is that I’m intentional i mean well and i look good doing it. and that’s OK. I have the business and relationships to affirm that.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
My story embodies resilience. Growing up in the streets of Paterson NJ trained me how to be able to handle anything that came my way. I grew up fast and don’t remember much of my childhood. I do know that I was alone and all I knew was survival. This created the hustler in me. By the age of 16, I began paying my rent. It was scary but I realized I didn’t have anyone cheering for me to succeed or pushing me for greatness. All I had is myself. This made me never want to give up on myself because that’s all I had. by the age of 24, I was already a mom of 2 and a college dropout. Most people would have given up on themselves. I on the other hand recognized it as a blessing and I just kept going. I’m so glad I did. Today I am a business owner and have college students as well as my children assisting with my passion. I made many mistakes in the past, and let a lot of bad people into my life. With the grace of god, I was able to overcome any adversity.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
I read a lot. The books that helped me the most on my Entrepreneurial journey are
1. Mary Kay Ash ” Miracles Happen – The Life and timeless principles of the founder of Mary kay inc.
2. Sharon Begley – Train your Mind Change your Brain. How a new science reveals our extraordinary potential to transform ourselves.
3. Florence Shovel Shin – The Game of life and how to play it
