We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kira Courson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kira, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

Charming Leucadia is more than custom jewelry that you create, it’s the experience creating it with friends and family that you will always remember. Our mission was to create a fun and safe space in Encinitas that gives you a memory you’ll never forget.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Kira Courson, I am 22 years old and I always had the dream of opening up my own business. I have always had a strong passion for entrepreneurship and a creative space in my mind to make something like no other. I was born and raised in Encinitas, CA and have enjoyed every bit of it. Encinitas is a small beach town with tons of great sceneries and experiences. I wanted to create a fun and unique store for everyone to come and experience so I created Charming Leucadia. Charming Leucadia is a community driven jewelry boutique where you come for a memorable experience and leave with a unique piece of personalized jewelry. We provide a fun way to celebrate with a group of friends, a creative space to bond with family, or a-must-do destination for out of town visitors.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?

I think the best advice from a first time business owner is to always keep a positive attitude. It may sound cliche, but from the beginning I honestly wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into however, along the journey, I always try to keep a positive energy around which then reflects on my team here and keeping them happy. Making sure you have a solid and strong team for your store is a huge help to you in the end.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

The most effective strategy to build our clientele has been social media. Now a days, social media is your best friend. Using our platforms such as Instagram and Tiktok has been a huge help for getting the word out about when we opened, what we are, and how we operate as a business.
