We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kingston. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kingston below.
Kingston , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
The main thing that stood out to me was how it made me feel. When I was 3 I was at church and some kids were singing Christmas songs, one being jingle bells so I got up and walked to the stage they gave me a mic and I started singing. I realized the arts, singing, dancing, acting, and just anything else I felt was intriguing became a world I wanted to live in.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Kingston Kharif. I am a 15 year old artist attending Nashville School Of the Arts. I have worked in productions such as: Rich in shadow the musical (Theatre bug), Eddie in 13 the musical(street theatre) Rapunzel’s Prince in Into The Woods (Nashville School of the Arts) and more. I also I have music on all streaming platforms Under the name Kingston one record being called solicitude ft. Kinny. Things I would love for you to know about me is I’m a hard worker in love with the process. I love being in a space where I can work on anything artistic. It’s healing for the mind and soul to know you’re working on something you’re in love with. It’s one of the most rewarding things in my life and the thing I’m most proud of. Just being able to partake in this journey that art has taken me on is a gift in itself.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I think realizing art is subjective allows space for acceptance among the world of artist and art. There is no form of art that is the same. Everything may feel the same but it’s a play on feelings, perspectives, and anything else that explains why we as humans are expressing what we are. I know for me art has been the main way for me to express my craziness in the form of creativity, emotions and just anything that pops in my mind. Art is the thing the world needs when we want to get lost in the joy of expression. I think it’s beneficial when art is made comfortably at any time.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I want to creativity share my love for the arts through the world. I want to be able to share a microphone with myself and know I shared my my words through the form of music or be on a stage/Movie Screen and know that I shared my love for acting out different forms of my perspective. I wanna live my life knowing I give everything to my art and I wanna be great at it.
