We recently connected with King Delph and have shared our conversation below.
Hi King, thanks for joining us today. The first dollar your business earns is always special and we’d love to hear how your brand made its first dollar of revenue.
The first client that I had on the food truck was Will Smith . I had an associate that has a limousine service and he was driving Will Smith around for Bad Boys 4 . Were invited on set to meet everyone. We met Martin Lawrence and Will Smith . It was unbelievable cause I watched they guys on tv for years , now I’m feeding them . We took the food truck out to the set and the rest was history.
King, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My first restaurant was in North Carolina, it was a bar and grill . I sold that restaurant and relocated to Atlanta. I’ve worked in Atlanta at all of the top restaurants and decided to open up my own restaurant which is Bass and Treble cafe in Jonesboro. We then decided we needed a food truck and now we cater all types of events. Now I’m more on the consulting side . I’m consulting for 3 different restaurants right now . Revamping their menu and growing their business. I basically come into your restaurant revamp your menu , train your staff with the new menu items and watch your business grow . Restaurant consulting is something I love doing because I can help people and get paid at the same time .
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When starting out my restaurant Bass and treble, I had 2 business partners that started out with . Not long after we opened the business they both disappeared and left me with the business to run completely by myself. There were times I wanted to just give up and walk away. But I stay focused and every time I got knocked down I got back up and kept moving. That was a very difficult situation to adjust to. I believe in surrounding your self with like minded individuals. To become successful together.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I used social media as a marketing tool even before the restaurant/ food truck was open . Showing the public how hard your working to get the business up and going is great it make the customer think they are with you on your journey. So when the food comes into play it’s just the cherry on top. I use social media totally different now , because it’s an outlet to maximize your marketing and promotion.
