We recently connected with King Aiden and have shared our conversation below.
King , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful and best project I’ve worked on today is my latest release/album “No Kingdom Can Endure Two Kings”. It is a fourteen song album. I recorded and wrote thirty songs in two weeks and picked the top fourteen. During those two weeks I knew this album had to be different than anything I have ever put out before. Each song sounds completely different and I was the most honest I’ve ever been to myself lyrically.
King , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am an African-American, independent actor, musician and singer-songwriter. Sent to artist development at The Abbott Agency in Nashville by Terry Watson from Warner Music Group. I have worked with artists and producers such as XanTheArtist, Ian Keaggy, Terry Watson, Ryan Cassata, Robert Marvin, David Mullen and TobyMac. I appeared in one of TobyMacs’ music videos with 29+ million views so far. I also landed a role on the show “Nashville” from ABC. Nowadays, I have found himself a lane in the hip hop and RnB genres and some pop, making original music and playing as many instruments as I can. I love being involved in every part of the creative process!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, it would be touching people with my music! Getting those messages and reading the positive comments! It’s irreplaceable. It makes me feel good on my bad days as well and something cool is that we can all help each other through music
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Non-creatives do not understand or see the backend of our journey and work. Staying up all night, I’ve stayed up until 8am working on a project. The drive, motivation, and inspiration is there. There’s no set salary, you can make infinite amounts of incoming with your music and reach the world if you wanted to. But not only that, I could be in poverty right now, which I have lived in before, and most creatives would still be doing the same thing. Rich or poor. It is something you are born with and know you are meant to do it no matter what. So never give up, because you never know what will pay off to you in the end because of persistence
