We were lucky to catch up with Kineesha Kiah recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kineesha, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
To be completely honest I started my business as a means to distract myself and gain peace. Im a first time mother to a beautiful baby girl. My pregnancy was extremely high risk due to her having two dime sized holes in her heart requiring surgery upon delivery. Everyone advised me not to worry as much as I was and relax so I choose to distract myself. It was always a dream of mine to become an entrepreneur.I created a business selling organics self-care products I made as a hobby that I could also use on my child . Focusing on growing my business became the outlet I needed through such a traumatic time and actively working toward financial independence for myself and my child brought me great joy and peace. Being a new (single) mother , working my 9-to 5 and starting a business was a lot to take on but I’ve managed to do it with grace.I realized just how much happiness I found in helping other women and inspiring new mothers like myself by sharing my journey.
Kineesha, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am 33 years old born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. I ‘m the first time mother of a beautiful little girl named Ashia. During my very traumatic high risk pregnancy in the midst of the pandemic I decided to turn my passion for skincare of which was only a hobby at the time into a full scale business. Here at Curve Theory Organics we sell organic self care products for men ,women and children. I never really understood how important time to yourself was until I became a mother. I battled postpartum depression during the first few months of motherhood and having time to myself to relax , think and provide self care were the only ways I came out victorious. I want each Curve Theory Organics customer to walk away with a feeling of self love and appreciation after purchasing one of my products. Not only did they purchase a little slice of peace and luxury for themselves they can also feel good knowing the ingredients are 100% organic ,safe and created with each of them in mind. What makes me proud is knowing I’ve created such great products, creating inventory as I look at my daughter knowing I’m going to pass this business to her one day, providing physical and mental health awareness to my customers who are at the moment primarily women and do desperately in need. No, I haven’t received any awards yet but even if I had I’d still feel my greatest accomplishment is every single review I receive, every video I get sent or see posted on social media from my customers demonstrating the love and benefits of my products and hearing how my journey has inspired them.Lastly knowing my brand has been able to touch soooo many lives whether its through my customers or my volunteer efforts.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
We live in the day and age if social media so marketing and advertising on the internet and in person are the main ways I find new customers . I utilize my own personal page as well as my two business pages to promote sales and products, my customers often post reviews and video which drives website engagement . We participate in as many vendor fairs and other vendor opportunities as possible so potential customers are able to physically see/feel our products.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
